Although the very entertaining NBA playoffs are stealing the spotlight and becoming the sport to bet on by bettors, don’t ignore Major League Baseball. There is no doubt with three game 7’s on Saturday, the basketball schedule will attract plenty of wagering, but ignoring baseball over the weekend could cost bettors big money. At we love to bet on all sports, but have a special place for baseball. We have a fully integrated baseball handicapping special section that will provide all handicappers with all of the hard hitting info that they need to make money betting on the Boys of Summer.

Make sure to check back on a regular basis as we will post our MLB Picks of the Day!

Here is the MLB Picks for Saturday May 3, 2014.

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs

The lowly Chicago Cube seems to be having another lackluster season, but they are going to be a big problem for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cubs won the first game of the series and the bats are starting to warm up at the right time. The Cubs are 4-1 in Jake Arrietas last 5 starts and the Cardinals are 2-5 in Michael Wachas last 7 starts which includes 0-4 in the last four games on the MLB highway. The Cards are not getting good pitching right now and the Cubs are hitting. That makes the Cubs a solid home underdog in this early Saturday afternoon game.

Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros

The Houston Astros are not a very good team, but they are not that bad either. They put out a great effort and have a solid base of young players that are starting to gel. Dallas Keuchel gets the start for the young Astros and he has done very well of late as the Astros have won two of his last three starts while maintaining a small WHIP of 1.20 in those starts. The Mariners are 1-4 in their last 5 games as a favorite and 2-6 in their last 8 road games. The Mariners are 1-6 in the last 7 meetings and they will lose again as the young Astros win this game.

Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds

One of the things we preach here at the MLB Daily picks is to take pitchers that provide value. The Milwaukee Brewers are a bad team, but they do have a few good arms, most notably Yovani Gallardo who gets the start against the Reds this weekend. He has pitched well in his last three starts with an ERA of just 2.84. The Brewers have won five of his last six starts against the Reds and that is where the value comes into play. The Brewers are 10-2 in their last 12 games as an underdog and 53-24 in Gallardos last 77 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance. The Brewers get a good pitching performance and take down the Reds.
