There is one thing you can say about the Los Angeles Angels: they may go into a slump every once in a while, but they have the kind of all offensive capabilities that when they break out of it, they are going to break out of it BIG. That was exactly the case on Tuesday night, as they exploded for nine runs and 15 hits against the Cleveland Indians pitching staff. That is the kind of thing they hope carries into Wednesday as they once again take on the Indians in MLB betting action that is scheduled to get underway at 7:10 PM ET at Progressive Field.

As VietBet customers are undoubtedly aware, the guys from Los Angeles, er, Anaheim have a trio of superstars in the lineup, with the potential to scare any pitcher. One of those guys, the youngest of the group, has been on fire whether the team has been hot or cold. So it was no surprise that he was the offensive star in that Tuesday victory.

But let's talk about the pitchers first. Justin Masterson, who has been an All-Star in his career, will take the mound for the Indians, and his 4-5 record and 5.05 ERA indicates that he would have difficulty dealing with the Angels' lineup if it is on its "A" game. Of course, he should have plenty of rest as he is coming off only two innings of work in his last outing.

The Angels will be going with southpaw CJ Wilson (7-6, 3.50 ERA), who they spent a ton of money on as a free agent, and who they hope can duplicate the kind of performance he had the last time he faced the Indians.

Here are the numbers for MLB betting on this game, as they are posted by the people at VietBet:

Los Angeles Angels (Wilson - L) -115
Cleveland Indians (Masterson - R) +105

Over 8.5 Runs -110
Under 8.5 Runs -110

Currently the Angels are sitting with a record of 38-32, which is second in the American League West, 4.5 games behind the Oakland Athletics. So they are within striking distance of a team that has a decidedly much lower payroll. The Indians, managed by Terry Francona, are even at 36-36, but are closer to the Kansas City Royals' lead in the AL Central (three games). Los Angeles, which is listed at +650 to win the AL pennant in the MLB betting futures at VietBet, is actually the leader in the wild-card race, while Cleveland is 2.5 games back.

Will it be another great night for Mike Trout? It seems that the odds have been in his favor lately. Even though the Angels sometimes don't hit the ball, as evidenced by a total tally of 10 runs during a five-game stretch leading into last night's game, Trout has been consistently stroking it. He has 26 RBIs in his last 22 games, and has hit four round-trippers in his last four contests. On Tuesday he took the Indians over the fence twice to lead the 9-3 victory. And guess what? Albert Pujols, who had been slumping, has hit .333 over this last six-game stretch, even though he had an eight-game hitting streak snapped last night. Trout's current hitting streak, by the way, is twelve games.

VietBet patrons know that Wilson has not exactly been a stopper lately, in the process of losing three of his last four decisions, but he certainly played that role on April 30, as he gave up only a run and two hits in eight innings against Cleveland. But he will face a challenge on Wednesday night, or at least so we think, with Cleveland outfielder Michael Brantley. MLB bettors can not actually be sure, because Brantley was held out of the lineup on Tuesday after he took a knee to the head on a slide on Monday night. Francona thinks he can be in the lineup on Wednesday, and the Indians would need him, since he has hit .536 over his last eight games. His success against Wilson has been non-existent, however, as he is managed just one hit in 14 career at-bats against the left-hander.

Masterson was roughed up by the Boston Red Sox in his last start, managing to go only two innings. Trout has had pretty good success against him (four hits in eight at-bats), but Josh Hamilton has been the real Masterson-killer, with a .588 career average. Maybe the atmosphere is right for the Angels, even though they are laying -115 on the road in the MLB betting lines.
