Here is the MLB Picks for Wednesday, July 22nd, 2014.

Texas Rangers at New York Yankees

The New York Yankees have already been quite active by trading for an improvement player in Chase Headley. The Yankees will be better off in a few games, but it is going to take time for him to adjust to a new team and a new league as he switches from the National League to the American League. This is good news for the Rangers who start their ace in Yu Darvish and the Rangers are 9-2 in Darvishs last 11 starts with 4 days of rest. The Yankees are 5-16 in their last 21 games as a home underdog and 1-6 in their last 7 home games when they go up against a team with a losing road record. The Yankees lose trying to adjust with new players in the lineup.

Free Pick: Texas Rangers -117

Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

The Boston red Sox are playing great baseball and making a push to get back into the American league East standings. Winning games against division rivals on the road is a good way to get that started. Clay Buchholz is back and healthy and that is good news for the Sox as they make a push to get back to the World Series. The Red Sox are 38-14 in Buchholzs last 52 starts with 4 days of rest and 41-18 in Buchholzs last 59 road starts. The Red Sox keep winning by beating the Blue Jays.

Free Pick: Boston red Sox -105

Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves

Just because the team is struggling, like the Marlins, it does not mean they can’t get a win as a big underdog. The Marlins are not completely out of the playoff hunt and wins against the Braves could go a long way in the standings.  Joe West is the umpire in this game and the Braves are 0-6 in their last 6 Wednesday games with West behind home plate. The Marlins get an upset win on hump day.

Free Pick: Miami Marlins +145
