Here are the MLB Picks for Tuesday August 5th

Cincinnati Reds at Cleveland Indians

The Cincinnati Reds have failed to meet expectations this season. They have had some injuries to key players and have let wins slip through their fingers. Despite the fact that the Reds have not played well they are still within striking distance of first place. The only solid and consistent starter will take the hill on Tuesday as Johnny Cueto will take to the mound for the Reds. Cueto is 2-0 in his last three starts and he is 5-0 in his last five starts against the tribe. The Reds are 36-16 in Cuetos last 52 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance and 8-2 in Cuetos last 10 starts overall. The Reds get another great pitching performance and the Reds beat the tribe.

Free Pick: Cincinnati Reds -120

Tampa Bay Rays at Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics made big moves before the trade deadline and they are hoping it will spark them team heading into the stretch drive of the season. A’s pitcher Jason Hammel will need to perform much better or he may be out of the starting rotation. He has lost his last three starts and may be one of the reasons that the A’s traded for Jon Lester. Hammel will respond and get the big victory against the slumping Rays. The Rays traded their best pitcher and it is obvious that management has given up on this team. Hammel has allowed two runs or less in his last two starts against the Rays. The Rays are 3-9 in their last 12 games with the total set at 6.5 or lower and the Athletics are 21-7 in their last 28 home games. The Rays are 18-45 in the last 63 meetings in Oakland and the A‘s continue their dominance with a victory.

Free Pick: Oakland Athletics -137

San Francisco Giants at Milwaukee Brewers

The Giants will send Tim Lincecum to the mound against the Brewers, but that may not be a good thing for the road team. Lincecum is 0-2 in his last three starts posting an ERA of almost nine in those starts. The Giants are 4-17 in their last 21 when they go against a team with a winning record and the Giants are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings. The Brewers get the win at home as Lincecum continues to struggle.

Free Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -130
