Two weeks remain in the Major League Baseball regular season. With a sweep this past weekend, the Detroit Tigers have overtaken the Kansas City Royals once again in the AL Central. The Dodgers padded their lead a bit in the NL West with a series win over the Giants. Pittsburgh is still within striking distance of the Cardinals in the NL Central. Every series is extremely important at this point for all the teams that remain in contention.

-Washington is in Atlanta for a series this week. The Braves are four games out of the final NL Wildcard spot. The Nationals are 6-2 in their last 8 games. The Braves are 1-6 in their last 7 games. Atlanta has dominated this series though. The Braves have taken 27 of their last 39 games from the Nationals. Atlanta is 6-1 in their last 7 home games vs. Washington. Can the Braves get hot at the right time?

-The Milwaukee Brewers are trying to pull it together and stay in contention. They won some games at home in the past week, but now they need to do it on the road. Milwaukee is 0-8 in their last 8 road games. They are in St. Louis for a massive series against the NL Central leading Cardinals. The Brewers are 20-43 in their last 63 vs. St. Louis. The Cardinals are 72-35 in their last 107 home games.

-Detroit is 6-1 in their last 7 games. Minnesota is 8-20 in their last 28 games. The Tigers are 46-17 in Scherzer’s last 63 starts, and he starts Monday. The Tigers are also 10-1 in Scherzer’s last 11 starts vs. the Twins. The over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these teams.

-Oakland has a chance to get back on track with a series against the lowly Rangers this week. Oakland is 5-12 in their last 17 games. Texas is 22-57 in their last 79, and they are 10-30 in their last 40 road games. The A’s are still 39-18 in their last 57 home games. The under is 33-14-4 in the Rangers last 51 games. The under is 5-0 in the A’s last 5 games.
