The 2015 baseball season has started, and now that we are one month in, we can begin to project which teams have the best chances of winning their divisions, making the playoffs, and winning the World Series.

Last Season, the San Francisco Giants finished second in the NL West, behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the playoffs, they went on another improbable run, and won the World Series for the third time in five years, defeating the Kansas City Royals, who were making their first World Series appearance since 1985.

Both teams defeated teams that had more success than they did during the regular season, proving that once the playoffs start, all the regular season stats and success don’t matter as much.

This season, baseball experts and fans are all trying to figure out if two unexpected teams will make it to the World Series for the second consecutive year, or if things will return to normal, and the teams with the best records will play in the World Series.

Here are the future odds on teams that are favored to win the World Series this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers (11-2): They were the favorites to win it all last year also, but their Cy Young and MVP award winning pitcher, Clayton Kershaw, couldn’t get past the St, Louis Cardinals in the playoffs.

Kansas City Royals (15-2): The Royals weren’t favorites last year, but quickly became favorites this season after their strong performance in the playoffs last year. It also helps that they are bringing back almost the same roster they had last year.

St. Louis Cardinals (15-2): The Cardinals have one of the most talented rosters in baseball, and they are a couple of years removed from an appearance in the World Series, which makes them favorites again this season.

Washington Nationals (8-1): The Nationals have a talented young team that was also a favorite to win last year, they play very well in the regular season, but have yet to make a significant push in the playoffs.

Detroit Tigers (9-1): They have been contenders in the American League for almost a decade now, but their window might be closing, especially after losing to the Kansas City Royals in the playoffs last year, despite all the Cy Young winners they have on their roster.

New York Yankees (14-1): The Yankees have missed the playoffs for the past two seasons, and look like they will make a run this year, but their chances of making the World Series don’t look too good at the moment.

New York Mets (16-1): Like the Yankees, it is too early to tell if their success this season will last, or if it is just a mirage. They will be considered a legitimate contender if they can hold off the Nationals in the NL East.

So far, the top of the divisions in the National league looks like it did at the end of the season. The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the NL West, and the St. Louis Cardinals lead the NL Central. In the NL East, the Washington Nationals and New York Mets have changed roles for the moment, and the Mets have a 1.5 game lead over the defending NL East champions.

In the American League, things are very different than they were at the end of last season. In the AL East, the New York Yankees, who finished 2nd last year are on top of the division, and the Baltimore Orioles, who finished 1st are sitting at the bottom. In the NL Central, The Detroit Tigers, who won it last year are currently 2nd, while the Kansas City Royals, who finished 2nd last year are in 1st place. In the AL West, the Houston Astros, who have been the division doormats since they made the move to the American League, are in 1st place, and the Los Angeles Angels, who won it last year are in 2nd place.
