The month of June is here. Champions will be crowned this month in the NBA and NHL, but we still have to wait a few more days for those Finals series to begin. The NHL Stanley Cup Finals begin on Wednesday and the NBA Finals tip off on Thursday. Even though it’s a Monday, most MLB teams are in action on June 1. There are no wraparound series on the docket, so each MLB series brings a new set of trends for Monday morning. Start your week off on a good note by lining your bankroll with some winners. With a shortage of trends for Monday, we’ll take a look ahead to those Finals series in the winter sports with a few trends.

Here are the top sports betting trends for June 1:

MLB: Minnesota Twins at Boston Red Sox (7:10 p.m. ET)

Trend: Play against Boston using the money line in home games against a team with a winning record. The Red Sox are 18-37 (-25.9 units) over the last two seasons.

Mike Pelfrey and Clay Buchholz meet again in a rematch of last week’s game between the two teams. The Twins won that one 2-1 and oddsmakers seem to think that this game will go a little bit differently. The Red Sox are favored in the -170 range against the surging Twins, who are the best team in the AL this month. Boston is not playing well, so laying -170 with them seems tough to do.

Bonus Trend: Play on Minnesota in all games against a team with a losing record. The Twins are 23-7 (+15.85 units) this season.

MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates at San Francisco Giants (10:15 p.m. ET)

Trend: Play under in San Francisco home games against a team with a winning record. The under is 11-1 (+10.1 units) this season.

The Pirates have been playing much better of late and are now 26-24 on the season. The Giants had a bullpen setback on Sunday, but they were one of the best teams in baseball in May. It will be interesting to see if they can keep it going with the calendar flipped to June. The total is 6.5 as the Pirates send ace Gerrit Cole to the bump against Ryan Vogelsong.

NHL: Chicago Blackhawks at Tampa Bay Lightning (6/3, 8:00 p.m. ET)

Trend: Play under in Chicago non-conference games. The under is 20-7 (+12.75 units) this season.

The Blackhawks and Lightning should make for an excellent NHL Finals. Both teams have tremendous depth and good speed with goaltenders that have been good, but not great, throughout the playoffs. The Blackhawks did well to keep the scores low against the Eastern Conference this season and low scores would certainly benefit them in this series. The Lightning were the top team in goals per game during the season and the Blackhawks were among the league’s best in goals allowed per game.

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors (6/4, 9:00 p.m. ET)

Trend: Play on Cleveland using the money line in all games versus good offensive teams scoring 99 or more points per game in the second half of the season. The Cavaliers are 26-7 (+16.75 units) this season.

The Cavs and Warriors tip off the NBA Finals on Thursday night at Oracle Arena. The Cavs enter this series as an underdog and are a six-point underdog in Game 1. Cleveland has been the class of the Eastern Conference for a while now, so they have fared very well against a lot of good teams. The Warriors certainly fit the bill as a good offensive team and this series will be a great test for both teams.

Bonus Trend: Play on Cleveland in the first half of games versus good offensive teams scoring 99 or more points per game in the second half of the season. The Cavs are 25-9 (+15.1 units) this season.
