Thursday is a great day because it means another edition of The Bettor’s Box gets posted at BangTheBook. Adam Burke does an outstanding job with this twice-a-week podcast that goes more in depth than any other baseball betting podcast you will find. With sabermetric insight and betting line analysis on every single show, this is exactly the kind of podcast that will help handicappers of all skill levels and bankrolls. It is a podcast that has aided listeners in making money betting on baseball and should continue to do so throughout the rest of the season.

Listeners of the show can also hit Adam up on Twitter at his handle, @SkatingTripods, to talk baseball betting, topics for the show, or any other sport at BangTheBook. He’s always willing to discuss baseball, as well as the other sports. Don’t hesitate to ask him for more clarification about sabermetrics or about the observations that he has seen in previous games.

Your host was a little bit riled up at the start of the show and got on his soapbox to talk about some things that had been bothering him earlier this week. One of the things that Adam preaches on this show is having perspective and sometimes that can get lost by being having too much of a black-and-white stance on so many things. Some of his thoughts may rub some listeners the wrong way, but discussion is a good thing in all forms.

Moving into “Beyond The Box Score” to look at what happened earlier this week, the most impressive series results came from the New York Mets and the Houston Astros. The segment began, however, with a look at the disappointing Washington Nationals. What’s going on with the Nats? Are they going to be able to get out of the funk that they are in? Rain deprived fans and bettors of a series winner in the NL Central showdown between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs. What did that series tell us, if anything, about the state of those two teams?

Line analysis and market watching are two of the most important topics of discussion on every episode of The Bettor’s Box. Once again, trends that have been seen in the betting market over the last several weeks continued, which led Adam to talk about some of those line moves. At this time of the year, with so much focus on football, baseball will start to take a back seat. It’s important to realize where the value will be, especially if you’re not paying as much attention as you have over the summer.

With two picks for Thursday night and a look at what to keep an eye on this weekend, Adam wrapped up another strong show with a lot of great information that bettors can use to keep making money betting on baseball. Adam’s picks and analysis article will return on Friday, as our game previews for every MLB matchup are now back. Keep an eye out for that and more great insight from
