It’s Monday and that means another edition of The Bettor’s Box, the wildly popular MLB betting podcast presented exclusively by BangTheBook.com. Host Adam Burke covered a myriad of topics as we start to enter the stretch run of the baseball season. September can be a difficult time to bet on baseball with so much emphasis on football and a lot of lines that are simply too high to bet. Fortunately, Adam is there for you to help you finish off the last month of the regular season with a profit.
Listeners of the show can also hit Adam up on Twitter at his handle, @SkatingTripods, to talk baseball betting, topics for the show, or any other sport at BangTheBook. He’s always willing to discuss baseball, as well as the other sports. Don’t hesitate to ask him for more clarification about sabermetrics or about the observations that he has seen in previous games.
If you enjoy listening to Adam on The Bettor’s Box, you can also hear him on three other podcasts right now at BangTheBook. The College Football Podcast with Adam and Kyle Hunter was recorded on Sunday night and was quite possibly the best episode that the guys have done since they began the show three years ago. The Gridiron Gambling Report includes NFL expert Cole Ryan and will be recorded on Tuesdays this season. And, finally, Football Fridays With Joe D’Amico is a new addition to our podcast rotation and features professional handicapper from BTBCappers.com talking about his college football and NFL picks for the weekend.
As for The Bettor’s Box, there was a lot to catch up on from an exciting weekend on the bases. Adam began the show with a look Beyond the Box Score. This segment is always important because it recaps what we saw over the weekend and examines how it can affect the near future. There were some very interesting sweeps over the weekend and some key series wins that had a direct impact on the race for the MLB playoffs. Tune in for the analysis on those matchups.
Going Down the Lines is a way to gauge the betting market, both from an oddsmakers’ perspective and also from the perspective of the betting masses. A lot of heavy favorites were in action over the weekend, but there were a handful of line moves to discuss. This segment also included free podcast picks from Monday, as well as Tuesday, for the loyal listeners of the show.
Gauging motivation is big at this time of the season and Adam talked about three teams that he is looking to fade and three teams that he is looking to follow over the final few weeks of the season. In September, it almost becomes more about judging which teams want to be there rather than breaking down the matchups. Playing out the string is harder for some teams than it is for others and you’ll want to hear Adam’s take on some of the teams that will make you money and some of the teams that will cost you money.
Remember to follow Adam on Twitter (@SkatingTripods) and also be sure that you follow @BangTheBook on Twitter. The top comments, questions, and suggestions will be mentioned on the show and every Tweet sent to either handle will get a response.
