It’s time to celebrate because everybody is playing October baseball this season! Unfortunately, for the fans and players of 20 of the league’s 30 teams, the season ends on Sunday. The final regular season edition of The Bettor’s Box featured a lot of great insight into the playoff chase that concludes this weekend and also some thoughts on teams and players to keep an eye on for the 2016 season. It’s been a great season here at BangTheBook and we hope that The Bettor’s Box has been a tremendous help for you.

Listeners of the show can also hit Adam up on Twitter at his handle, @SkatingTripods, to talk baseball betting, topics for the show, or any other sport at BangTheBook. He’s always willing to discuss baseball, as well as the other sports. Don’t hesitate to ask him for more clarification about sabermetrics or about the observations that he has seen in previous games.

We have an app now for your Apple devices. Please check out and download the BangTheBook app, which features a mock sportsbook, live odds, access to our articles, and more. An Android app is coming very soon.

The Bettor’s Box is all about baseball, but we have all kinds of phenomenal podcast content. Adam is also on The College Football Podcast with Kyle Hunter, recorded every Monday, the Gridiron Gambling Report with Cole Ryan, recorded every Tuesday, and Football Fridays with Joe D’Amico. As you will see at the bottom of this write-up, there are several places to find our podcasts.

Before getting into some recent results, Adam climbed atop his soapbox to vent about a situation involving the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night. Jose Ramirez homered and the Twins didn’t like his reaction. It’s time to stop the “unwritten rule” garbage in baseball.

Anyway, there was a lot to discuss from recent results and line moves. A few teams clinched postseason berths early in the week and other teams are showing an impressive amount of resolve by playing hard to the end of the season. Several series were discussed during the Beyond the Box Score segment.

Moving into the Down the Lines segment, which examines moves in the betting market, there were some real head scratchers this past week. Adam took the time to break down his thoughts on the notable lines and also explain why he agreed or disagreed with the line moves. This segment also included a handful of picks for Thursday night’s action.

With a preview of the two key series in the AL West that will decide some of the final playoff spots in the American League, we bid adieu to the regular season and turn our attention to the playoffs. Sunday night’s recording of The Bettor’s Box will feature a look at the AL playoffs. For thoughts on the NL playoffs, take a listen to last Sunday’s show after catching today’s edition.
