This is probably one of the most difficult days of college basketball, as there is plenty of action and unlike a typical Saturday schedule, not all of the games have numbers out on them yet, so for our first totals look, we’ll look at the early games, meaning those that start before 7 p.m. and have lines on them. There are some mid-afternoon games that numbers have been posted on, as we’ll look to bounce back from our 1-2 effort last time. One thing I’ve noticed is that we’ve had a better tendency to do well with unders, so we’ll look at a few of those here, even though they may not have the largest differences between the lines and our projections.
Game 670, UConn vs. SMU: SMU is favored by 2 and the total has moved to 131, which is what it opened at and briefly went up to 132 before coming back down. I made this one 64-63 and will go ahead and take the under, hoping it’s close, as fouls in the final minute have a chance to bite us in this one.
Game 672, South Florida vs. Memphis: The Tigers are favored by 8 and the total here is 133 in a game I made 69-59, so will take the under in this one, as well, and much like the above game, don’t want to see a lot of fouling in the final few minutes, as that could come back to get us.
Game 682, Duquesne vs. Richmond: Richmond is favored by 2 and the total is 145, while I made this 71-70 for the Spiders, so will tab our third and final under for the early starts, as this one tips-off at 6 p.m. EST.
Game 662, Louisville vs. Virginia: The Cavs are 7.5 and 122.5, but a little hesitant to pull the trigger. Still, if I had to play it, that would be the way I would go.
Game 696, Providence vs. Creighton: I made Creighton an 82-75 winner and the total is at 148, but not real eager to go against the line move that saw the number drop from its opening of 149.5.
Game 702, TCU vs. Kansas State: This one is much like the game above, as I have TCU winning 77-75 and the total is 144, but it did open at 146.5, so will likely stay away from this one.
Game 726, Colorado vs. Arziona: More of the same here, as the total is 142 and I have the Wildcats winning 81-69.
