Citadel Bulldogs vs. Chattanooga Mocs Odds Preview
The Bulldogs lost to the VMI Keydets in their last game, 88-79. Citadel’s Kaelon Harris had a solid game, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. VMI had an offensive rebounding percentage of 38.6 (above their season average of 29.2). Citadel, meanwhile, did an excellent job of converting from the free throw line (20-23; 87.0 percent).
The last time the Mocs took the floor, they were topped by the UNCG Spartans, 72-52. Ramon Vila was Chattanooga’s leading scorer with 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting. UNCG forced the Mocs into a TO percentage of 24.2 (above their season average of 15.3). Chattanooga, on the other hand, had a better free throw rate (0.135 vs. 0.045).
The sweet-shooting offense of Chattanooga (96th in the nation with an effective field goal percentage 0.519) will clash against the mid-tier defense of Citadel (222nd in effective field goal percentage allowed 0.497). The Mocs should have the edge on that end of the court. It will also be a tale of two paces as the fast-breaking Bulldogs rank second in possessions per game, while the more half-court oriented Mocs rank 276th.
This will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams, after the Mocs won both meetings last season. In the last matchup, Chattanooga won 68-65. Chattanooga had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.534 vs. 0.410). Citadel, on the other hand, did a fantastic job of converting from the free throw line (15-17; 88.2 percent).
