Cal Poly Mustangs at Iowa Hawkeyes ATS Preview
The last time the Mustangs played, they were beaten by the Creighton Bluejays, 86-70. Cal Poly’s Kyle Colvin had a good performance, leading the team in scoring with 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Creighton did a terrific job of converting from the charity stripe (19-23; 82.6 percent). Cal Poly, on the other hand, had an offensive rebounding percentage of 28.6 (above their season average of 21.4).
The Hawkeyes hope to maintain momentum after topping the North Florida Ospreys in their last game, 83-68. Iowa received a boost from Luka Garza, who was the game’s leading scorer with 29 points on 12-for-18 shooting. Iowa dominated nearly every stat category in the game. They had an absurdly low turnover percentage of 6.9 (better than their season average of 15.1) and an offensive rebounding percentage of 43.5 (above their season average of 31.9). North Florida was 14.4 and 24.3, respectively, for those same stats.
Iowa could dominate on the offensive side of the ball as their prolific offense faces off against one of the worst defenses in the nation. Since the 2018-19 season, the Hawkeyes rank 33rd in offensive efficiency, while Cal Poly ranks 336th in defensive efficiency. Additionally, the Mustangs rank 343rd in free throw attempt (FTA) rate (0.165), while the Hawkeyes rank 49th in opponents’ FTA rate (0.192).
