The NFL Playoff Previews cover all of the teams heading to the post-season. This set of previews will discuss why a team will or will not win the Superbowl and offer a prediction on the chances to win the conference and the big game as well as the latest future odds. Checkout the Superbowl Prediction page for more NFL playoff team previews.

Why the Saints will win the Superbowl:

From the start of the season the Saints have shown that they are one of the best teams in the NFC and could easily represent the NFC in the Superbowl. The high powered offense combined with the ball hawking defense makes this a tough beat in the post season.

Dome sweet dome. The Saints will have home field throughout the playoffs and there may be no place harder to play in all of the NFL. The atmosphere is the closest thing to a college football stadium. It is big and it is loud. This can interfere with the opposing teams signal caller when trying to get a play in. This crowd will represent as this Saints team tries to do something that they have never done before.

The offense is not only one of the best this season but is being compared to some of the best of all time. They are always in the game and can score from anywhere on the field. They can drive the ball 80 yards or score on just one play. This offense is hard to solve and so far the only way to beat it is to keep it off the field.

If there is any reason this team should or could win this thing is pure Karma. This city and state has been put through so much since Hurricane Katrina it would only be fitting if this team and this city won the Championship.

Why the Saints will not win the Superbowl:

The Saints find themselves in a spot that they are unfamiliar with. This team has not had much success in the past and they are making plenty of landmarks this year. They have never won this many games, never had home field advantage and never had been deep in the playoffs. This is all new to this team and with that comes the challenge of handling the pressure of the big game. This could hurt them in making a run through the post season.

The Saints play well at home but they proved they are beatable there as they lost a tough game to the Dallas Cowboys. The formula seemed easy, run the ball and put pressure on the quarterback. This is a formula that plenty of the teams that are in the NFC incorporate and everyone will be watching that film to see how to beat the Saints. .

The Saints have a problem on defense. The defense seems to scurry all over the field and they have some good defensive backs but they are not healthy and have not been all year. When they are healthy they are not even that good. They give up over 350 yards per game and that is good enough to rank 22nd in the NFL. Even the Buffalo Bills have a better defense than the Saints. They are vulnerable through the air where they rank 24th in the league when it comes to passing yardage surrendered. With a defense like this they can get an early exit in the playoffs.

Current Odds from Diamond Sportsbook for the New Orleans Saints in the Playoffs

Odds to win the NFC: 1/1

Odds to win the Superbowl: 3/1

Prediction: The Saints will win the Superbowl and the NFC.

While the odds may not be the greatest for this type of future wager, my money will be on the Saints pulling off the impossible and winning the whole thing. The payout may not be that great but it will be rewarding to see them win it all.

The loss to the Cowboys will help this team focus on the big prize and not on going undefeated throughout the regular season and the post season. A loss like that will allow them to refocus and refine the game play.

They are number one in the league in takeaways per game and have Drew Brees at the helm. Even when he was pressured in the Cowboys game there was still a chance for them in the end and that means he will always have a chance to win the game.

The road to the superbowl goes through New Orleans and that fan base is starving for a winner and will be ready to support this team. The city and the team deserves to be in and have a great shot at winning the Superbowl!
