The talk of the week may just have been how close all the undefeated teams came to losing. There were several undefeated teams going into week eight and not all of them would get the win. The Broncos went up against a Ravens defense that looked like the Ravens defense of the past. The stuffed the Broncos offense and easily defeated Denver sending them to the first loss of the season.  At the same time the Colts were up against the 49ers and they got more than they bargained for against a pesky San Francisco team that managed to put up a good fight against the Colts. In the end Manning still passed for over 300 yards and the Colts squeaked a win out at home. The last undefeated team was New Orleans and they had their hands full on Monday Night against the Falcons. The Saints needed two timely interceptions to hold off the rushing attack led by Michael Turner and stay undefeated. The undefeated teams were not the ones making the only noise in week eight.

Two teams without a win were making headlines on Sunday. In the worst game of the day to watch the Rams out lasted the Lions and got the first win of the season. Steven Jackson rushed for 149 yards and finally got in the end zone during the win. The Titans became the last team to get a win in the NFL and they did in Vince Young’s first start of the season. Young looked decent and did not turn over the ball and now will hope to build on his performance.

When it came to big games there was no game that had more hype than the game between the Vikings and the Packers. The Vikings won the game easily on the field and although the Packers made a late run to make it look good the game and the day belonged to Brett Favre and the Vikings.

This week had a slew of upsets as well. The Eagles dumped the Giants as one point dogs, and Miami beat the Jets with special teams in New York. The biggest upset may have come in Arizona. After beating the Giants the Cardinals looked like they were back to Superbowl form. Then Carolina as tem point dogs came in and took the Cardinals down. They made Kurt Warner look bad and picked him off five times. The Panthers up to this point were having a horrible year and now have a very big win they can feed off for the rest of the season.

Week nine is full of great games and the rewind will be here to cover it with a recap of the god, the bad, and the ugly in the NFL.
