Interesting choice but other teams proved they are meant for the post season as they continued to win in impressive fashion with big wins by the Patriots, NFL week 7 is behind us but it brought plenty of great games and plenty of exciting action, but along with it plenty of controversy. In Dallas the Vikings rushed out to a halftime lead only to see it disappear in the second half and superstar running back only carried the ball 12 times. iants and the Colts. Now lets go between the lines for more fascinating numbers.
Beyond the line:
Time once again to go beyond the line this week in the NFL. I will mention in the next segment that five underdogs won outright on the board but was that the best angle? This week you would have to be a halftime player to see the best angle and that was the second half over play. Eleven out of the fourteen games scored over 19 points in the second half. If you bet the second half over blindly you would have had a monster day. In fact many of the games went over in the fourth quarter alone. In fact five teams scored over 20 points in the second half by themselves. If you are not a second half bettor it may be something you want to look into as it adds spice to wagering on a football game as well as a great way to make money or hedge your wagers.
Big Dog of the week:
This week the underdog bit again with five underdogs that won outright on the board. The Titans won in what might have been the game of the week and the Bills turned out the Ravens at home. Kansas City upset the Raiders on the road and the Bears perhaps saved their season with a win against the Eagles but neither of those teams are the dog of the week. That privileges goes to the Denver Broncos who pulled the upset off at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Off the bye week the Broncos needed this win after getting blown out at home against the Chargers.
Fantasy Impact Player of the Week:
This might be the easiest category to fill out this week as the fantasy impact player of the week goes to Tom Brady who continues to impress. Brady through for five touchdowns in the first half and made it look easy playing catch with Randy Moss for two deep ones. He finished with 354 yards and six touchdowns and now has 27 scoring throws on the year. Tom Brady played in the second half under some controversy as many people thought he should be benched with the big lead that the Patriots had, but perhaps they did not pay attention to the Houston game where the Texans made a come back after being down by 37-7 in the fourth quarter.
Must see Game for Week 8:
The big game for week seven was anything but as the Jaguars lost their Quarterback to injury early in the game and then folded like a lawn chair. This week you can look for a better match up in the must see game. This week the game to watch is the Redskins and the Patriots. This may not seem like much of a game with the way the Patriots are playing this year but they face arguably the toughest defense to date and that could change the landscape of the game.
