Week five had a slew of great games this week and it ended with what was single handedly the best game of the year when the Dallas Cowboys narrowly got by the Buffalo Bills in a thriller that had everything from turnovers for touchdowns and recovered onside kicks. This week promises to be filled with more great games but before we look ahead lets take a look back.

Beyond the Line: This week beyond the line will take a look way beyond the line as we bring in consensus plays and look at overall numbers against the spread and beyond the line. Home teams were the profit makers this week as they held up to a 9-5 clip. Surprisingly it was the home team favorites that would have paid the bills for the sports bettor. Big spreads were being covered by New England (if you got less than 17) with the Colts, Steelers, and Redskins following up with blowout wins. The Saints were the true home favorite to flop putting the only true blemish on home favorites. Many people use a consensus to track the teams that the public are betting on. While this is a valuable tool, I strongly suggest you find a way to use it and never follow it blindly. Perhaps you can narrow it down by a certain percentage, just back home teams or even just underdogs. Try to tweak it and test methods so you can figure out the best way to use it to your advantage.
Week 5 Headlines: When it comes to headlines for week five everyone was talking about the domination the Chargers showed when the dismantled the Broncos in Denver and will play the Raiders next week believe it or not for the first place spot in the West. This game gave hope to Charger fans that they are ready to break out and resume the quest for the title that they missed out on last year. When it came to upsets this week it was the Bears that led the way with a huge upset over the resurgent Packers in Lambeau field. Bears may now believe that Griese can get them some wins as he managed the game correctly leading the Bears to the upset.

Fantasy impact players from Week Five: There is a long list of showstoppers that made fantasy owners happy in week five. Starting with the Quarterbacks Brett Favre continued his great season putting up 322 yards however it was in a losing effort. Larry Fitzgerald led all receivers with 136yards receiving and with Kurt Warner in for the rest of the season this could be a continuing trend. When it comes to rushing yardage it was a surprising performance by Michael Turner as he ran for 147 yards when the Chargers crushed the Broncos.

Week 6 Game to watch: There is no doubt as to the game that everyone will be talking about this week. The New England Patriots have mowed down every opponent they have faced winning by an average of 17 points per game and some analysts are talking about a possibility of going undefeated. For that to happen they are going to go through Dallas to do it. The Dallas Cowboys high octane offense will be waiting to face the Patriots as two undefeated clubs, both at 5-0 go into battle. Line opened at New England -4.5 with the total set at 52.5.
