NFL week two was full of surprises and upsets and scandal. The week started on “Patriot Gate” as the Patriots were busted for video tapping the defensive coordinator of the Jets and ended with the Patriots facing off against the Chargers. Here is the highlights, names and numbers from week two in the NFL.

Beyond the Line: If you were a dog player than you had a great week in the NFL. Seven out of the first eight games on the board cashed for dog backers reversing the trend set in week one when favorites dominated the board. Bigger underdogs were on the good side of some big money lines as the 49ers, Buccaneers, Houston and the Browns were some of the underdogs that won the game outright on the field in the early games. It didn’t stop there as Arizona beat Seattle and Washington toppled the Eagles on Monday night. Only the Steelers, Patriots and Cowboys dominated as favorites.
2-0 or 0-2: The NFL is seeing some surprises that have yet to win a game. The Saints and the Eagles head the list of surprise teams that have yet to win a game and that is not good. Only 8% of the teams in the NFL that start off 0-2 make the play offs. On the surprise winning end, the Redskins, 49ers, Packers, and the Texans lead the way in surprise teams that are 2-0.

Fantasy impact players from Week Two: When looking for some leaders in fantasy numbers nowhere to look but the shootout in Cleveland in week two. Carson Palmer passed for over 400 yards in 6 touchdowns in the losing effort and his opposition in Derek Anderson impressed with over 300 yards and 5 touchdowns. This was just the start of things as Chad Johnson had over 200 yards receiving and Jamal Lewis was revived and ran for over 200 yards.

Week 3 Game to Watch: There are some great games with 2-0 teams facing off when the 49ers travel to Pittsburgh and the Colts go to Houston, but the best game to watch will be on Sunday night. The 2-0 Cowboys try to prove they are real when they go to Windy City to face the tough defense of the Chicago Bears. Rex Grossman will defend his play and his team once again and try to derail Tony Romo and the Cowboys.
