Week thirteen in the NFL rounded out one of the better NFL weeks of the season. It started off with what could have been the game of the year when the Green Bay Packers went to battle against the Dallas Cowboys and was surrounded by great football! Unfortunately the week was marred by the death of Redskin Sean Taylor who was murdered in his home earlier in the week. The NFL showed respect by having tributes for him throughout the league and it was truly a heavy hearted day for the Redskins in the game they played against the Buffalo Bills. Overall it was a mix of sadness and joy for week thirteen in the NFL.

Beyond the line:
Beyond the line looks beyond the game and takes into account the Las Vegas line and how it played out for the week. This week was pretty much a break even spot for players and books alike around the National Football League. There was a slight edge to the favorite and the over but the bettor would have had to choose their spots wisely. There was a slight edge to playing the NFL underdog. The NFL underdog has always been a good bet especially at home and that would have been the case again this year, but even this week that would not have paid as they just finished at or around .500. This shows you that the NFL lines maker is working hard to make sure they get paid in the most wagered on sport. Big Dog of the week:
Big Dogs were barking again with perhaps the biggest dog being Baltimore and they didn’t win. They were very close and there are a ton of conspiracy theories in effect for that game but the Ravens just fell short. There were other dogs that won outright like Tampa Bay that outlasted the Saints endangering the playoff hopes. The Raiders toppled Denver as home dogs and Russell made his debut on the field and Seattle won on the road to just name a few of the live puppies for week thirteen. The Big Dog of the week honors goes to the Buccaneers for a huge win in division on the road after it looked like they had lost the game.

Fantasy Impact Player of the Week:
The fantasy fanatics were at it again with lesser known athletes putting up the big numbers with McCown at Tampa and Frerotte at St. Louis throwing over 300 yards. The fantasy impact player of the week goes to a player that has been here before and that is LT of the San Diego Chargers. He ran for over 177 yards and showed everyone that he still has what it takes to be one of the best in the league.

Must see Game for Week 14:
After a very exciting Monday Night game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens the game to watch without a doubt will be the Patriots up against the Steelers. The Steelers boast a similar game to the Ravens and the Eagles. A good defense with a solid running game and that does seem to be the blueprint for the trying to knock the best team in the NFL into the loss column. This game will be hyped from the get go and will be one of the best of the year!
