Just when you think the NFL cannot get any better they have a great week of pigskin surrounded by the great holiday tradition known as Thanksgiving! Three games went on the holiday and although none of them were close it was still a great day of football! On Sunday it was a sweet day of upsets and great games leading up to Sunday night when the 20+ underdog Eagles gave the undefeated Patriots all they could handle! So without any further delay lets dig into the great week that was in the NFL!

Beyond the line:
In the Beyond the line segment usually there is one area that is focused on that describes the week and some of the best bets for that week, but this week was a tough and therefore most likely a good one for the books. Some huge dogs played close and even won outright but the favorites were the overall winners on the week, but it remained very close to .500. This week it was so close that both the Rams and the Redskins came just yards short of winning and more importantly covering the spread but failed with costly miscues with under a minute to go. Even the Eagles could have won late if not for a turnover. When it came to totals the board was leaning on the overs, but just barely. The totals went 7-5 if the sports bettor played them all to go over, although it seems like an unlikely scenario it would have been one of the best ways for a sports bettor to earn money this week.
Big Dog of the week:
With all due respect to the San Francisco niners that never gave out and got some help from bad coaching to finally get a win; they will not be the big dog of the week. I know they scored plenty of points and won on the field as a double digit underdog, but the dog of the week has to be the Minnesota Vikings. They marched into the meadowlands and on the second play from scrimmage put a TD on the respected Giants defense. That was just the start of the debacle of the afternoon the Giants would have. Eli Manning was devoured by the Vikings defense as they returned three turnovers for scores against Eli and the lifeless Giants. The loss got fans and experts questioning if Eli was a good quarterback or surviving all this time on the family’s name. That is still yet to be seen.

Fantasy Impact Player of the Week:
It was another week of outstanding numbers that were put up by great player sin the NFL, but this week is was not the Favre , Brady and Romo’s leading the way but lesser known players finally getting the due for the owners in fantasy leagues every where. For example in Arizona it was the veteran Kurt Warner posting up over 400 yards in an over time game. With hose numbers it was no surprise that Larry Fitzgerald put up a stunning 156 yards just beating out Wes Welker. The running back was a stunner too as Kolby Smith from the Chiefs ran for nearly 170 yards and posted two scores in a loss to the Raiders. When it came to touchdowns it was Drew Brees that scored four touchdowns for the Saints. Overall the lesser known players paved the way this week in fantasy impact numbers.

Must see Game for Week 13:
This one is easy as the Packers and the Cowboys square off in what will be the battle of the two best teams in the league and most likely decide who will have home field advantage in the playoffs. I do think that the NFL network did a great job by getting this game the only problem is that not everyone can get the NFL Network which may cause problems for Cheeseheads and cowboys all over the land. It is sure to be one of the best games of the year and will be worth all of the hype.
