Monday Night NFL Pick - Find out who to take every Monday night!

1) Sunday January 3rd: KC @ Denver

The Broncos are falling fast in the hunt for a playoff spot and need this win in order to get a shot at the post season. The Chiefs don’t have a shot at the post season but would love to play spoiler in this role. Denver has dropped nine of its last 10 as home chalk and six straight ATS off a road loss. In addition, the Broncos are 3-10-1 as division favorites. The Broncos may win but they won’t cover this big of a number.

Play: Chiefs +13

2) Sunday January 3rd: Bengals @ Jets

The Sunday night game is between the Bengals and the Jets. With a surprising win over the Colts the Jets need to win to get into the playoffs. The Bengals would rather see the jets in the playoffs over Baltimore and Pittsburgh so don’t be surprised if the entire team takes a “night off”. The Bengals are 0-7 when facing teams that allow 17 or less points per game and they hide all the weapons since they may face them again in the wild card game.

 Play: Jets -10

3) Sunday January 3rd: Patriots @ Houston

The Patriots locked up the AFC East but still can get that number three seed from the Bengals. Houston is in a must win spot to even have a shot at the playoffs and they will be riding the momentum off of the win last week. The Patriots were awful on the road this year. They have had a tough time on the highway in ’09, losing five of seven (2-4-1 ATS).  This line is so big because the Pats will rest key players.

Play: Houston -9

4) Sunday January 3rd: Baltimore @ Oakland

Baltimore had a shot of making the playoffs but lost a tough game against the Steelers and now has to travel to the west coast and take on Oakland. This is a team that has beaten the Eagles and the Bengals who are both playoff bound. The crew from Baltimore has cashed nine straight versus losing teams and they have won and covered seven in a row as double-digit favorites. Baltimore is also 13-4 laying lumber overall and 17-7 as chalk the last four weeks of the season. Oakland has stumbled in 17 of its last 22 home finales ATS. Baltimore will be ready to roll the Raiders.

Play: Ravens -11

5) Sunday January 3rd: Green Bay @ Arizona

These teams could face each other again in the wild card game so I expect this one to resemble a pre-season game. Both teams once they know they are locked in will rest key players and run a vanilla offense. The Cardinals have finished strong in the past; grabbing the green in 16 of 24 December duels. They are also 8-0 ATS versus good passing teams that average seven or more yards per attempt. Cardinals win and cover.

Play: Cardinals -3

6) Sunday January 3rd: Philadelphia @ Dallas

Finally we have a game here with the Boys and the birds where both teams will be playing for something. The Eagles could get a bye after the Vikings fell flat against the Bears and the Boys are playing for a playoff game at home! The Eagles have thrived while in revenge mode, covering 13 of 16 on the road against their division brethren. Philadelphia has also cashed 24 of 35 on the highway against Eastern enemies overall and is 19-8 as short-enders off a straight up win. The Cowboys have stumbled at the finish line with regularity, dropping 20 of 27 season finales ATS. They are a woeful 3-10-1 ATS as division home favorites and 7-17-1 off a double-digit division victory. In addition, Dallas is 2-6 ATS after allowing less than 10 points. I will take the points and the birds in this one.

Play: Eagles +3

7) Sunday January 3rd: Jacksonville @ Cleveland

This game may not be too exciting to o watch but the players for the Cleveland Browns are finishing strong and showing the new GM they want to play ball. They have been solid on defense and have run the ball very well. The Jaguars were demolished in New England and are obviously playing out the string. The Jaguars are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games overall and give up early.

Play: Cleveland -1
