Trainer Bob Baffert knows how to win major races, and Conveyance gives him an opportunity to pick up more Triple Crown jewels. Conveyance will go off as one of the favorites every time he takes to the track at this point, though the Derby was the first time that he didn't finish in the money in his career. He has four wins and a place in six career starts, though none of those outings are higher than at the Grade 3 level.

The pedigree of Conveyance is fantastic and is suggesting that this is a horse that has the perfect mix of speed and distance. The great Holy Bull, who was the one time Horse of the Year, is the father of dam Emptythetill. Indian Charlie, who won the 1998 Santa Anita Derby is the sire of Conveyance. Several colts and fillies from Indian Charlie have won major distance races, as Fleet Indian won two majors at 1 1/4 miles.

Expect to see early speed out of this horse in every race that he runs. He went wire to wire at the Southwest and basically did the same thing at the San Rafael, and he has never been longer than a couple lengths off of the lead in any race that he runs. However, in a field of 20+ horses, Conveyance is going to be in for a rude awakening, as there are probably other horses that will run after him at the outset and he'll have plenty of traffic to work to in order to get to the front of the pack before the first turn.

At the Kentucky Derby, Conveyance led early, but fell in a major way down the stretch and ultimately only finished 15th.
