If you're looking for a horse that has a pedigree of champions, look no further than this three year old. Backtalk was sired from 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Smarty Jones, who arguably was the most recent horse with the best chance at winning the Triple Crown. Aside from that, Affirmed, the most recent Triple Crown winner is the father of his sire, Apasionata Sonata.

A third place finish in the Illinois Derby just wasn't what the doctor ordered for Backtalk, especially considering that that race featured a number of Derby entrants. An eighth place finish in the Breeders' Cup Futurity won't make matters any better for potential bettors either.
