March madness is in full swing and as usual it has not disappointed! The first full weekend has come and gone and it was full of drama, great individual play, upsets and buzzer beaters that will go down in history. All of that has led up to a great stage for the sweet sixteen for this weekend. In the second part of this series we turn to the underdogs that can make a difference in this round. Teams that advance this far often despise the tag of Cinderella team because they believe in themselves and know that they can advance further and shock the world! In part two of this series the focus shifts to those teams that may surprise and go far in the tournament.
Davidson — it is completely unfair to call this team an underdog. If anything you may have been able to call them an unknown until last week when everyone found out just what Davidson was all about. They showed true merit and heart when they came back from a 17 point deficit to shock the world and bounce the Georgetown Hoyas from the big dance. They have one plenty of games and have had a serious non conference schedule this year playing teams that are still left in this tournament like UCLA and North Carolina. Davidson is playing much better than a 10 seed and has shown they have the ability to advance deep in this tournament. They even have a star player in Stephen Curry who averaged 25 points a game this year and had an amazing 30 in the win over Georgetown. Badger fans should be on high alert this weekend when Davidson comes to town.
