Kansas - the Jayhawks are playing great basketball heading into the final four. The game against North Carolina has plenty of storylines especially for head coach Bill Self. He replaced the highly touted Roy Williams and this will be the first trip to the final four since Roy left for Carolina Blue. Kansas has been equally impressive in its wins in the tournament but it’s been the defense that has impressed not allowing more than 61 points in any game they have played.

Memphis - The Memphis Tigers have to be the Rodney Dangerfield’s of this year’s tournament. They simply have not gotten any respect all year. They were labeled #1 only to be called paper champs for the weak conference they play in. they have been crushed by the media and so called experts for the lack of prowess at the free throw line. Now they are finally in the final four and they did it in grand fashion stomping Texas in the prior game and now have to face UCLA in the final four.

UCLA - the Bruins are back to the final four and this is familiar territory for them as they have been there in 2006 and 2007. Ironically the only player that was not there for the runs to the final four is their best player. Freshman Kevin Love is a first timer to the final four but is ready for the dance and leads the team in points, rebounds, and blocks. The center match up against the Tigers will be an interesting one.

Projected Winner: UCLA

This team has the right mix of defense and strength underneath to win this whole thing. The best thing they may have going for them is experience. This team has been here before and the players and the coaches know how to handle the atmosphere and get their players ready for the big games that are upcoming against Memphis and the winner of North Carolina against Kansas. One thing for sure we can expect some great basketball this weekend!
