Opening round playoff series:
No. 1 Cleveland vs. No. 8 Chicago
No. 2 Orlando vs. No. 7 Charlotte
No. 3 Atlanta vs. No. 6 Milwaukee
No. 4 Boston vs. No. 5 Miami
Cleveland Cavaliers (-300)
Previous Odds: -200. The Cavaliers are holding steady odds-wise. This is their conference title to lose, and it would be a huge upset if they did. Boston could be an interesting and physical series in the second round.
Orlando Magic (+250)
Previous Odds: +300. Orlando is flying under the radar, but remember this team went to the NBA Finals least year, beating Cleveland along the way. Vince Carter needs to play great to have a chance.
Boston Celtics (+800)
Previous Odds: +300. Boston has not looked like a championship caliber team for quite some time now. Everyone is waiting for the light to go off, and their play should improve in the playoffs. However, this aging team is likely passed its window.
Atlanta Hawks (+1000)
Previous Odds: +1000. Atlanta hasn’t played as well as you would like in the second half of the season. However, no one thought Orlando could make the finals last year. The Hawks provide good value at these odds.
Miami Heat (+4000)
Previous odds: +4000. Miami has played very well down the stretch and they still have Dwyane Wade to take over playoff games in the fourth quarter, at least this year. This could be a very profitable long shot pick.
Chicago (+5000) won’t even make interesting fodder for Cleveland in the first round. Get the brooms ready for a sweep (cue the hate email from Bulls fans).
Charlotte (+8000) is just happy to make its first playoff appearance ever in the history of the franchise. Major kudos go to coach Larry Brown.
Milwaukee (+8000) could have made noise if center Andrew Bogut didn’t get injured and lost for the year. Brandon Jennings should get major consideration for Rookie of the Year.
Our Pick: For the Value take the Hawks for 1 unit and the Magic for 1 unit both have a chance of knocking off King James and the Cavs
