2010 NL MVP Pick and Odds

The MVP is the most prestigious award in all of baseball besides a World Series ring. This winner of this award is basically known as the best player in the game. This award is given out in both the National League and the American League. For the sports bettor picking the MVP could be a valuable future wager that can played along with the multiple other MLB future wagers available. Here is a look at some of the favorites to win the award in the National League and the current odds.

Albert Pujols St. Louis Cardinals
Current Odds: +100
If you’re going to find a “sure thing” in handicapping the MVP race, this guy is it. He has already won the award twice and barring injuries he will win it again. He is on a team that can go far and his power at the plate cannot be matched by anyone in the league. Taking Pujols along with another candidate is never a bad idea.

Chase Utley Philadelphia Phillies
Current Odds: +300
Chase Utley maybe one of the best pure hitters in the game. He hits for power and has the ability to get on base. He is a star in a potent lineup and will fill in all the stat boxes and get everything from stolen bases to home runs. The Phillies have a chance to go back to the World Series and another great year from Utley could land him some hardware.

Hanley Ramirez Florida Marlins
Current Odds: +200
It is time that sports bettors started realizing what fantasy baseball geeks realized a long time ago. This guy is good. He puts up crazy numbers and has the skill and speed to be in the 30/30 club every year. Florida has some pitching to make this team competitive and that may be enough to keep Ramirez on the MVP radar.

These are the top three candidates but not the only ones. Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers is listed at +120 to win the award. He can hit and is one of the superstars but his biggest problem may be the fact that his teammate Prince Fielder is also listed at +400. Often two candidates on the same team will offset each other. Finally Ryan Howard checks in at +250 but he has the same problem with Chase Utley being a favorite.

The MVP race has plenty of great players vying for the title. As a sports bettor future wagers can be made on the MVP race all throughout the year and if done properly it can equate to money in your pocket at the end of the season!
