Pointspread: Dallas -5.5
Total Line: 53
The much anticipated return of second-year quarterback Robert Griffin III from offseason knee surgery has not gone as planned through the Redskins’ first four games with just one straight-up win against three losses. They are also 1-3 against the spread with the total evenly split at 2-2 in their first four games. The good news is that Washington did go into last week’s bye fresh off a 24-14 victory over Oakland as a 3.5-point favorite on the road.
When you look at RG III’s numbers you would think this team would be playing much better than it has. He has thrown for 1,202 yards while completing 62.4 percent of his passes, but many of these yards came when the game was already out of hand. Overall the offense is ranked eighth in the NFL in total yards, but 17th in scoring with an average of 22.8 points a game. The other big problem with the Redskins has been a defense that is allowing 440.5 yards and 28 points a game.
The Cowboys are tied for first in the NFC East at 2-3 SU but they have been a great team to wager on at 4-1 ATS. They are coming off a wild 51-48 loss to Denver as 7.5-point underdogs at home this past Sunday in which they racked up 522 yards of total offense. The total crushed the 56-point closing line and it has now gone OVER in three of their first five games.
Despite the fact that Tony Romo did throw the interception that set up the Broncos’ winning field goal, it is hard to put all the blame for not just this loss but the entire slow start on his back. He has performed at a very high level so far with 1,523 yards passing and a completion rate of 71.8 percent, but the lack of a consistent running game has hindered the entire offense. You can also pin quite a bit of blame on a defense that is ranked 31st in the NFL against the pass and 22nd in points allowed (27.2).

This classic NFC East rivalry has always remained close over the years, but Washington has covered ATS in the last six meetings. Despite this trend, it is hard to see the Cowboys dropping another game at home especially against a bitter division rival. Look for Romo to make all the right throws this Sunday night as his team climbs to .500 on the year with the win.
