Thursday night in NBA betting action the Western Conference’s Golden State Warriors will host the Eastern Conference’s Chicago Bulls at 10:30 ET on TNT inside Oracle Arena.
The Bulls got back on track Tuesday night with a 101-92 win over the Phoenix Suns to even up their West coast road trip at 2-2 SU with two more stops to go. It was F Carlos Boozer leading the way for Chicago as he scored 19 points and 12 rebounds to cap off another double-double. Boozer has been a big part of things for the Bulls this season averaging 14.8 points and 8.6 boards per game. A healthy C Joakim Noah has also contributed for this squad as he is averaging 11.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. Noah scored 14 points to go with 14 rebounds in Tuesday’s win in Phoenix. Right now this team is as healthy as its going to get with G Derrick Rose out for the season with a knee injury, but G Kirk Hinrich and Noah have both recently missed games with injuries. The Bulls have the NBA’s second best defense giving up just 92.8 points per game. At an even .500 24-24 SU, this Chicago team is prime for a run at the playoffs.
The Warriors suffered a bad loss at home on Tuesday as the Charlotte Bobcats knocked them off 91-75 at Oracle Arena. It was an off night all around as leading scorer G Stephen Curry put up just 17 points in the game. Curry averages 24.3 points per game and shoots 40.2 percent from the three point line. Tuesday he made just one-of-seven attempts from three and had his lowest scoring game in a month. It was a horrible way for Curry to follow up the season-high 44 points he registered last Friday in a 95-90 win over the Utah Jazz. For a team that scores 103.0 points per game, the 75 points was the lowest offensive output for Golden State at home this season. Warriors C Jermaine O’Neal returned to the lineup for the first time since December 9th as he has been out with a wrist injury. O’Neal came off the bench and scored nine points while grabbing eight boards. With the team struggling to make shots from the field this is hardly a good time for the Bulls to ride into town with a defense that keeps opposing offenses off the board. If the Warriors want a chance in this game they will need their offense to get it going early and often against the Bulls.
The Bulls have been up and down all season as they have struggled with injuries to key players. Being as healthy as they are doesn’t bode well for the home team that has been held under 38 percent shooting in three of its L/4 games. We expect to see a strong defensive outing from the Bulls who are 12-13 ATS on the road and Curry’s offensive efforts will not be enough to get a win for the Warriors. Look for Chicago to ride another great outing from Boozer and Noah to get a solid win on the road. Chicago 99 – Golden State 92
