The Week 5 of college football continues on Saturday, October 1, and this Atlantic Coast Conference duel is one of the most interesting, so don’t miss out on the best Demon Deacons vs. Seminoles betting pick and odds.
Florida State is looking to maintain its unbeaten record when Wake Forest comes to Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday. The Seminoles are 7-point favorites on BetDSI Sportsbook, while the total is set at 66 points. These conference rivals have met once in 2021, and the Demon Deacons won that game 35-14 at home.
Deacons fell short to Clemson in double overtime
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons suffered their first loss of the season as they fell short to the Clemson Tigers at home. Wake Forest took a 45-38 lead in overtime, but the visitors responded with a touchdown and later scored another one to secure a 51-45 win. Clemson controlled the possession (37:34-22:26) and had more total yards (559-447), but the Demon Deacons did have more first downs (28-25).
Sam Hartman was excellent and had the best passing game of his career as he completed 20 of 29 passes for 337 yards and six touchdowns. Jahmal Banks (141 yards on six receptions) and Donavon Greene (53 yards on two receptions) caught four of Hartman’s six TD passes, while Justice Ellison led the team with 73 rushing yards on 21 carries. On defense, Chase Jones and Ryan Smenda Jr. registered nine tackles apiece.
Seminoles remained unbeaten as they destroyed Boston College
The Florida State Seminoles displayed another dominant performance as they improved to a 4-0 record with a massive 44-14 home victory over the Boston College Eagles. FSU totaled more than 500 yards opposite Boston College’s 235, and forced two turnovers, while the Seminoles didn’t commit a single one on the other end.
Jordan Travis completed 16 of 26 passes for 321 yards and one touchdown. Kentron Poitier was on the receiving end of that TD pass, but Darion Williamson and Ontaria Wilson combined for 183 yards and sliced the Eagles’ secondary. Florida State scored four rushing touchdowns; Trey Benson led all the runners with 78 yards and two touchdowns on ten carries. FSU had three sacks opposite Boston College’s zero, while Kalen DeLoach contributed with seven tackles.
Trends:
Wake Forest:
• 1-4 ATS in the last five games following an ATS win
• 0-5 ATS in the last five games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game
Florida State:
• 6-1 ATS in the last seven games overall

• 4-0 ATS in the last four games following an ATS win
Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs. Florida State Seminoles Pick
Wake Forest has a top 30 offense that averages 42.8 ppg, but on this occasion, I am going with Florida State’s defense that allows 18.8 ppg. FSU allowed just 21 points in two home games this season and they didn’t surrender more than 17 points in each of five H2H home duels, and even kept the Demon Deacons off the scoreboard in two of those games. In the other three H2H clashes, wake Forest scored 26 total points at Doak Campbell Stadium, so I am backing the hosts to get a win here.
Pick: Take the Seminoles at -6.5 (-110)
The Total
That FSU defense against Wake Forest at home cannot be ignored in this H2H duel, and even though it’s going to be hard that the Seminoles to keep the Demon Deacons to under 20 points here, I do expect a low-scoring affair. The Demon Deacons are quite popular among the bettors when it comes to Over bets, but they should avoid backing Over in this one. Under is 7-0 in the last seven H2H meetings; Under is 6-1 in the previous seven H2H duels in Florida State.
Pick: Go Under 66.5 points (-120)
