The last time the Demon Deacons played, they got blown out by the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils, 87-65. With 13 points on 5-for-11 shooting, Jaylen Hoard was Wake Forest’s high scorer. Duke had an effective field goal percentage of 0.637 (above their season average of 0.550). Wake Forest, meanwhile, had a much better free throw rate (0.262 vs. 0.129).

The Hurricanes are trying to rebound after their 68-62 loss to the No. 13 Florida State Seminoles in their last matchup. With 13 points and nine rebounds, Ebuka Izundu had a solid performance for Miami. Florida State had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (32.4 vs. 22.9). Miami, meanwhile, did a great job of converting from the free throw line (18-22; 81.8 percent).

Second-chance opportunities might be rare for Miami in this showdown. This will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams, after the Hurricanes won the only game last season, 87-81. The Hurricanes dominated nearly every facet of the game.
