The NHL betting action goes on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, with six games around the league, so we are taking a closer look at the Pacific Division showdown at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle to get you the best Golden Knights vs. Kraken betting pick and odds.

Vegas meets Seattle for the third time in 2021-22, and the Golden Knights look to clinch their four-game set against the Kraken. In their previous two encounters, the Golden Knights outlasted the Kraken 4-3 as -235 home favorites and 4-2 as -120 home favorites. This time around, Vegas is a -154 road fave with a total of 6.0 goals on BetDSI Sportsbook.

The Golden Knights aim for their third straight win

The Vegas Golden Knights (36-28-4) are coming off a 5-4 overtime victory to the Chicago Blackhawks this past Saturday. It was their second win in a row and fourth in their last six outings at any location, as the injury-depleted Golden Knights continue to fight for the playoff spot.

Vegas is now sitting at the eighth spot of the Western Conference standings, only one point ahead of ninth-seeded Dallas. The Golden Knights are without skaters Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, Reilly Smith, William Carrier, Brett Howden, and Brayden McNabb. Goaltenders Robin Lehner and Laurent Brossoit are sidelined as well, so rookie Logan Thompson should guard the cage Wednesday in Seattle.

Thompson has patrolled the crease in the previous six games. He’s 5-4-0 with a 2.89 GAA and .914 save percentage on the season. The 25-year-old netminder yielded four goals on 34 shots in that overtime win to the Blackhawks.

The Kraken hammered LA to close down a three-game road trip

The Seattle Kraken (21-39-6) are coming off an impressive 6-1 victory at the Los Angeles Kings this past Monday. The Kraken wrapped up their three-game road trip in style, recording the third win in their last four games overall.

Six different players found the back of the net at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, as the Kraken outshot the Kings 38-37. Defenseman Vince Dunn made a couple of dishes, while Chris Driedger posted 36 saves.

Driedger improved to 6-9-1 on the season, and the 27-year-old goalie owns an underwhelming 6-9-1 GAA and .892 save percentage. Philipp Grubauer, who’s expected to patrol the crease Wednesday against Vegas, is 15-27-5 with a 3.19 GAA and .889 save percentage in 2021-22.

Trends:

Vegas:

  • 4-2 in the last six games overall
  • 8-2 in the last ten games against the Pacific Division

Seattle:

  • 5-13 in the last 18 games overall
  • 5-15 in the last 20 games at home

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Seattle Kraken Pick

Vegas is winless in seven consecutive showings on the road, and I’m expecting the Golden Knights to finally break out of their funk. Despite all their injury problems, the Golden Knights possess great depth and should find a way to outlast the Kraken.

It won’t be an easy task by any means. The Kraken have won four of their last six contests, though three of those four wins have come against the lowly Montreal, Arizona, and Detroit. Seattle’s defense is a big issue, as the Kraken allow 3.52 goals per game (27th in the NHL) while posting a poor 73.3 penalty-killing percentage (30th).

Pick: Take Vegas Golden Knights at -154

The Total:

I’ve mentioned how bad the Kraken’s D has been so far this season. On the other side, the Golden Knights rank 16th in goals allowed per game (3.01) and 17th in 17th in penalty-killing percentage (78.6%). Seven of Vegas’ last nine contests and seven of Seattle’s previous eight have produced at least six goals in total.

Hereof, I’m backing the over on the totals. The over is 6-3 in Seattle’s last nine outings as an underdog, and it is 6-3 in Vegas’ last nine games overall.

Pick: Go over 6.0 goals at -103
