West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Texas Longhorns
Date/Time: March 13, 2014, 9:30 PM
The Big 12 tournament has plenty of talented teams and two of them will meet on the court today as the West Virginia Mountaineers will go up against the Texas Longhorns. The Mountaineers are squarely on the bubble although they ended the regular season with a resounding win over the top ranked Kansas Jayhawks. Head coach Bob Huggins has made it very clear that if his team wants to go to the big dance they will have to win more than one game in this tournament. This small point spread is a bit surprising considering that Texas defeated the Mountaineers twice in the regular season by an average of 14. The Longhorns are 1-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last 6 games overall and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The desperate Mountaineers need a win and are riding the momentum of the Kansas win. They get the upset over Texas and advance in the Big 12 tournament.

Memphis Tigers vs. Connecticut Huskies
Date/Time: March 13, 2014, 9:00 PM
The UConn Huskies have a long and proud tradition of winning basketball games and tournament games but still need an impressive run in this tournament. The Huskies have the conference player of the year in senior guard Shabazz Napier who scored a career-high 34 points in his last outing against the Memphis Tigers. In fact the Huskies have won both meetings with the Tigers this season and if they can secure another win it would cement a decent seed in the upcoming tournament. The Tigers have a hot player n Austin Nichols who has reached double figures in scoring in a season-high six straight games and is shooting 68.6 percent from the floor in the last eight. The Huskies will have to play solid defensively to slow him down. In what could be one of the best games of the day look for an outright win by the underdog Huskies.
