The Jews are on a six-game winning streak following a 4-0 victory over Willem II in the KNVB Beker Cup final this past Sunday. They are undefeated in then straight games, recording nine wins and a draw in the process. Ajax is topping the Dutch Eredivisie with 80 points out of 32 games and a 111:30 goal difference and the Jews need to win their remaining two games to win the title. They’ve made a couple of huge upsets in the previous two rounds of the Champions League. Ajax eliminated the reigning champions Real Madrid 5-3 on aggregate in the Round of 16, while the Jews outlasted Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus 3-2 on aggregate in the quarterfinals.
Winger Dusan Tadic is leading the way for the Jews with 34 goals and 22 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions. Another winger Hakim Ziyech has 20 goals and 22 assists in 46 outings this season, while midfielder Donny van de Beek scored 16 goals along with 12 dishes in 54 apps. Forward David Neres bagged 12 goals and 15 assists in 50 games this season, while the veteran striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar added 22 goals in 41 outings. The manager Erik ten Hag can count on all his important first-team players, so we will see his best eleven on the field.
- Ajax won nine of its last ten games overall along with one draw
- Both teams scored in the previous five games at home
- 14 of the last 15 home contests had three or more goals in the total
The Spurs are on a three-game losing streak following a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday, while they couldn’t find the net in those three encounters. The Spurs have been struggling lately, losing five of their previous six games in all competitions and scoring just four goals in that span. Tottenham is sitting at the 4th spot of the English Premier League table with 70 points out of 37 games and a 65:37 goal difference. The Spurs eliminated Manchester City on away goals in the previous round of the Champions League, while they defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0 on aggregate in the Round of 16.
Tottenham will miss its best player Harry Kane due to an ankle injury. Kane scored 24 goals along with six assists in 39 games in all competitions this term. Heung-Min Son will lead the Spurs front line, and the Korean forward bagged 20 goals along with ten dishes this season. Christian Eriksen is the team’s best assist-maker with 17 dishes in 48 outings, and he also scored nine goals in all competitions. The manager Mauricio Pochettino will miss full-back Serge Aurier (hamstring), while winger Erik Lamela (hamstring) is still doubtful.
- Tottenham lost five straight games on the road
- Both teams scored in three of the previous five contests on the road
- Three of the last five games on the road had three or more goals in the total
Ajax is enjoying a wonderful season, and the Jews are playing a real total football with eight players in the final third. They are always looking to attack and their games are pure joy to watch. However, Ajax has many young players who can easily make a mistake, so I think Tottenham will find the net. The Spurs have to win this game if they want to reach the finals, but they will have a tall task considering their current form. Hereof, I would go with the hosts to win, but my first pick is both teams to score and over 2.5 goals. Ajax shouldn’t have problems to find the net, and if the visitors’ score, we’ll certainly see the third goal.
The Pick: Both Teams to Score YES & Over 2.5 Goals (-105)
Additional Pick: Ajax (+110)
