The NCAAB action starts with a new week and this conference duel is on Monday, February 20, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Tritons vs. Aggies betting pick and odds.
UC San Diego will open a two-game road trip when they visit UC Davis at University Credit Union Center. The Aggies are 9-point favorites on BetDSI Sportsbook, while the total is set at 141 points. These Big West rivals have met a month ago in San Diego, where the Aggies won 78-70.
Tritons managed to snap a losing skid
The UC San Diego Tritons (9-18, 12-12-1 ATS) went through their worst period of the campaign; they were on a five-game losing streak but snapped it with a 75-62 home victory over the Cal State Northridge Matadors. San Diego was solid from the field (46.3%) and kept the Matadors to 35.2% from the floor. The game was pretty tied in the opening half, but the Tritons scored 41 points in the second 20 minutes and deservedly secured a win.
Junior guard Bryce Pope led the Tritons with a game-high 24 points and game-high eight rebounds. Roddie Anderson III followed him with 16 points and six boards, Francis Nwaokorie added 12 points, eight rebounds, and game-high three steals, while Jace Roquemore had 11 points, four boards, and two thefts.
Aggies fell short of UC Irvine on the road
The UC Davis Aggies (15-12, 11-14-0 ATS) lost four of the last six games including the most recent one against the UC Irvine Anteaters on the road. The Aggies weren’t accurate enough from the floor and shot only 37.5%, while they were inferior in assists, registering just five opposite UC Irvine’s 16. Kane Milling had an opportunity to snatch a win for the Aggies, but he missed a three-point jumper as time expired.
Junior guard Elijah Pepper led the Aggies with a game-high 32 points (10-21 FG, 5-11 3PT, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, and two blocks. Christian Anigwe contributed 17 points, six boards, and game-high five rejections.
Trends:
UC San Diego:
- 1-4 ATS in the last five games against UC Davis
- 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight games vs. a team with a winning straight-up record
UC Davis:
- 13-3 ATS in the last 16 Monday games
UC San Diego Tritons vs. UC Davis Aggies Pick
While the Aggies are slightly better defensively, their offense is going to make the biggest difference on Monday. UC Davis is averaging 75.1 points per game opposite UC San Diego’s 67.4 ppg. That 8-point margin was in place the last time these conference rivals met as the Aggies won 78-70, and I expect to see a similar scenario this time around. UC Davis is far from being impressive recently, but the Aggies have what it takes to beat the Tritons by at least eight points.
Pick: Take the Aggies at -7.5 (-120)
The Total
Each rival scored at least 70 points in three of the last four H2H encounters, while each of those duels produced a minimum of 148 points. I like H2H trends, and this is enough for me to expect a high-scoring affair on Monday. Over is 4-0 in the Tritons’ last four overall; Over is 5-2 in UC San Diego’s previous seven road games, Over is 5-0 in the Tritons’ last five road games vs. a team with a winning home record, while Over is 4-0 in the Aggies’ previous four Monday games.
Pick: Go Over 139.5 points (-130)
