TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Spurs are unbeaten in the previous 11 matches and they are through to the 1/8 finals of the FA CUP thanks to a 2-0 victory over Newport in a replay after the first game ended 1-1. The latest Premier League tilt with Liverpool at Anfield is still fresh in everyone’s memory as Tottenham was awarded two suspicious penalties in the second half, including the one in the 95th minute that brought them an equalizer. Mauricio Pochettino’s side was batter after intermission after trailing the Reds 1-0 and managed to tie the game through Victor Wanyama’s fantastic strike from out of the box. Harry Kane missed an opportunity to give his team a lead from the penalty only a few minutes later, but he did score from the spot in the dying seconds to earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw. Spurs are in the 5th position with 49 points, four more than Arsenal and one behind Chelsea, who is currently occupying the Champions League place.

Tottenham Hotspur played 37 games so far in the 2017/18, recording 22 victories, nine draws, and six losses, with a goal difference of 75:32, which is 2.89 goals per contest on average. Spurs are in an excellent home form at the moment as they won the last four matches without conceding a single goal and scoring 11 in return.

Harry Kane is the team’s top scorer with 31 goals in 32 appearances, and Arsenal defense will have a huge test facing him as the England striker scored six goals in six starts in the North London Derby. Heung-Min Son has 11 goals to his name; Dele Alli added nine, while Christian Eriksen scored eight goals so far. Alli is the best assist-maker with 11 dishes; Son and Eriksen recorded eight assists apiece, while Kieran Trippier has seven passes that directly lead to goals. Mauricio Pochettino is delighted to have the entire team at his disposal as no new injuries occurred.

ARSENAL

The Gunners went through a turbulent period in the final days of the winter transfer window as they shipped out Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, and Theo Walcott, but brought Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The newest additions instantly made an impact in a 5-1 thrashing of Everton at Emirates as the Armenian international recorded three assists, while the former Dortmund striker scored on his debut. However, Aaron Ramsey was the MOTM after scoring a hat-trick and deservedly taking the match ball home. Arsene Wenger’s side still has a chance to qualify for the UCL, but a potential loss here could get them in an awkward position.

Arsenal played 39 games in this campaign, recording 22 victories, eight draws, and nine losses, with a goal difference of 75:46, which is 3.10 goals per contest on average. The Gunners are pretty awful on the road lately as they failed to win in the previous five matches in all competitions, including the last three in the Premier League.

Alexandre Lacazette is the team’s leading scorer with nine goals in 28 appearances; Aaron Ramsey has six to his name, while Danny Welbeck scored five goals so far. Ramsey is the most creative individual at Emirates with eight assists; Mesut Ozil has seven dishes, while Granit Xhaka added five. Except for the long-term absentee Santi Cazorla, Arsene Wenger doesn’t have any injury-related issues and is free to field the best possible lineup on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Arsenal – Betting Trends and Match Prediction

  • Tottenham is without a defeat in the last 11 matches overall
  • Tottenham scored at least a goal in the previous 19 games
  • Tottenham scored 18 goals in the last five home matches
  • Arsenal scored 13 goals in the previous five games
  • Arsenal conceded in the last five matches

Arsenal won the latest H2H duel at Emirates thanks to Mustafi and Sanchez, but the Gunners’ recent away form is quite concerning, and I am not convinced they will secure a positive result here. Tottenham is playing a top-quality football, especially at Wembley where they found it hard to adapt earlier in the season. Spurs won the corresponding fixture last year, 2-0, and I believe they will get three points on this one as well.
