Game three of an Eastern Conference Second Round series is set for Sunday night when the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Florida Panthers. Florida is in complete control of this series and can close it out with two wins on home ice. Below is my NHL pick for the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Florida Panthers.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Florida Panthers Betting Pick

The Pick: Florida Panthers +116

This game will be played at FLA Live Arena at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

Why Bet the Florida Panthers:

✅ Florida is on fire right now and have won each of their last five games.

✅ Against Toronto, the Panthers have won eight of their last 11 games on home ice.

✅ Florida seems to be that team this playoffs that gets hot at the right time and they are going to ride that wave to a commanding 3-0 series lead.

Toronto Maple Leafs Are in Trouble

Toronto will be sick on their flight to Florida as they had home ice advantage in this series and lost both games. The Panthers were the better team in game one and deserved the win, but the Maple Leafs were the much better team in their game two 3-2 defeat.

The Maple Leafs came out hit in game two as they scored 2:20 into the game and made it 2-0 just over five minutes into the first period. Florida got one back midway through and made it 2-1 heading into the first intermission. The Panthers tied the game up just 19 seconds into the second period and took a 3-2 lead less than a minute later. A quick flurry that ended up being the final goals scored of the game.

Alexander Kerfoot and Ryan O’Reilly scored the two goals for Toronto. Four Maple Leafs recorded an assist in the defeat.

The Florida Panthers Are Riding a Wave

Florida has now won five games in a row, since being down 3-1 against the Bruins in round one, and are just two games away from making the Eastern Conference Finals. Sergei Bobrovsky was the story in game two as he settled down after a shaky start and was dominant in their 3-2 win. Bob stopped 35 of the 37 shots on his goal and pulled off some stunning saves to secure the one-goal win.

In the game two victory, Anton Lundell, Aleksander Barkov, and Gustav Forsling all got a goal. Four Panthers recorded an assist on the night.
