The 2023 college football season is not even halfway complete, but there are a few conference races that already appear to be decided. While things can always change quickly in this sport, there are just some teams that look like they are clearly ahead of the pack in some of the major conferences in the country.
One of the reasons that you want to start making these declarations now is for the simple fact that you can still get a ton of great value in the betting odds. Even though there have been some favorites that have emerged, the odds aren’t overwhelming yet, but they will be growing each week.
This is a sport in which one loss can keep teams from reaching the College Football Playoff, but three teams look pretty safe. Here is a look at the teams that you want to bet on to win a conference title.

Big Blue Winning Big Ten
The Big Ten Conference looks to be a three-team race this season, with Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State in the mix. The winner of this conference is going to come out of the East Division, and that’s where all three of these teams play.
Ohio State just went on the road to beat a very good Notre Dame team, but that offense was shut down a bit by the Fighting Irish. Penn State is going to try to win this conference with a young quarterback, and that’s just not going to happen.
The Michigan Wolverines look like the favorite to win the Big Ten this season, as well as the favorites to win the College Football Playoff. There are just no holes on this Michigan roster, and it’s hard to see them not getting the job done.
It is the perfect time to bet on Michigan as well since the odds for them to win the Big Ten are currently sitting at just +150.
Texas on Top of Big 12
The Big 12 Conference is going to change in a big way after this season, as both Texas and Oklahoma will be leaving the league. Those two teams have controlled this conference for much of the century, and that appears to be the case again this season.
Texas is the current betting favorite to win the Big 12 Conference at -135, while Oklahoma is next on the list at +200. This race might come down to the huge rivalry game between the two teams, and it’s hard to see Oklahoma having what it takes to keep pace in that one.
The Longhorns went to Alabama and stunned the Crimson Tide earlier this season, and that win is going to give them momentum throughout the season. Jump on the Texas bandwagon now and take them at -135 to win the Big 12 Conference.
Seminoles Returning to Glory
The ACC race might already be over, as the Florida State Seminoles just delivered a massive blow to the chances of the Clemson Tigers. Florida State went on the road to beat the Tigers, and they are now the favorites at -150 to win the ACC.
Miami is the next team on the list with a chance to win this conference, but the odds for the Hurricanes are all the way down at +500. It would be awesome to see these two Florida rivals meeting up in a big game late in the year, but Florida State clearly looks like the better team.
Things were heading in this direction over the last few years, and everything has fallen into place for Florida State to win the ACC, and taking them at -150 is the way to go.
