Week 9 of the NFL season was filled with plenty of huge matchups, including a game in Germany with two Super Bowl favorites squaring off. The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs kicked off the Sunday action, and it made one thing pretty clear.
This version of the Miami Dolphins are not good enough to win a Super Bowl, and they might not even be good enough to win a playoff game. Miami has wowed everyone all season long with their offensive numbers, but they are now sitting at just 6-3 on the year.
A deeper dive into the Dolphins will also reveal that they are a perfect 6-0 against teams with a losing record. That means that Miami is 0-3 against teams with a winning record, and that’s who they are going to be facing in the playoffs.

Still Decent Odds
There was a time this season when the Dolphins were creeping up the odds board on a Super Bowl betting future. You can still get the Dolphins at +1100 (at BetDSI) to win the big game, but those odds are still way too high.
Miami hasn’t even been able to score a ton of points against the top teams on their schedule either as they managed to get just 14 points against the Chiefs. Kansas City is now the betting favorite to win the Super Bowl at +425, and they are a team that has proven it can win a big game.
The Baltimore Ravens are another AFC team that deserves more love, and they have moved past the Dolphins at +950. Baltimore is not a flashy team, but they just continue to outwork teams and win games on the ground.
This is only a look at the top teams from the AFC too, as you can also look at the odds from teams from the NFC. There are some great teams in that conference as well, including some that have a better offense than Miami.
Back the Bills in AFC East
The AFC East was supposed to be one of the best divisions in football this season, but it just hasn’t worked out that way. There are some teams with terrific records in the division, but none of the AFC East teams are going to win a title.
The Buffalo Bills have had their own issues this season, but they still know how to win when it matters most. Buffalo is not going to run away with this division title as they still have some tough games on their schedule, but they are going to get past the Miami Dolphins.
Now is actually the perfect time to bet on the Buffalo Bills to win the AFC East Division as it’s pretty clear that they are the best team. Miami has been able to put up a ton of numbers on offense, but any good defense is going to shut them down.
No Miami MVPs
Not only were the Dolphins getting some good odds to win the Super Bowl this season, two of their star powers were getting recognized as well. Both quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill were among the favorites to win the MVP Award.
You can go ahead and forget about making those bets as well, as these two players are getting exposed a bit against great teams. Hill had a massive fumble in the Week 9 loss and Tagovailoa was not lighting up the scoreboard.
The betting odds for both of these players will start to take a dive after some recent games, and now is not the time to try to jump in. Patrick Mahomes is the favorite to win the MVP Award again, and he will get that done.
