Texas Longhorns vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys: NCAA Basketball Free Pick

Oklahoma State Cowboys
(14-5, 9-4-1 ATS)
Two of the best ATS teams in the entire country square off in NCAA basketball betting action on Wednesday night in Stillwater, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys duke it out with the Texas Longhorns in a huge clash.
Obviously, the Longhorns are riding high right now, and they have proven that they can beat anyone in America on any court in the land to boot. They ended the 69 game home winning streak of the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday in resounding fashion for their second huge road victory of the year, and they are certainly going to be in the Top 10, if not in the Top 5 in the country when the new polls come out on Monday. Jordan Hamilton continued to prove that is a star by scoring 17 points and dragging down nine boards in the ‘W’ in Lawrence, and he is now averaging 19.5 points per game. J’Covan Brown has been ridiculously inconsistent this year, but he is always capable of going off in a huge way off of the bench. He had 23 against the Jayhawks in his third game since December 31st with at least 17 points scored. Of course, in all of the other battles from December 22nd forward, he has failed to reach double digits. Still, this is a young team with a lot to learn, but it has already proven a ton in the rough and tumble Big XII.
Okie State has really yet to prove this year that it can play on the road, as it is just 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS over the course of its last four played away from Stillwater. Still, that’s not going to be an issue for awhile, as there is only one road game between now and February 12th, and that’s coming against arguably the worst team in the conference in the Texas Tech Red Raiders. This is really the chance for the Pokes to state their case that they should be in the NCAA Tournament, as this next stretch of four games provides some very winnable duels to help get the team out of the rut it is currently in. Marshall Moses was held to just one point on the day against the Baylor Bears over the weekend, and this is why the game really got out of hand for the Cowboys. Moses is the team’s leading scorer at 15.7 points per game and the leading rebounder at 7.9 boards per game. Almost just as big, Keiton Page only had seven against Baylor, and he is averaging double that at 13.8 points per game. The stars for the Pokes need to remain as stars to win this one at home on Wednesday night.
We know that the whole world is going to love Texas in this game, and it’s hard to disagree with that notion. However, Head Coach Rick Barnes knows that this is a tough trap game played right after the biggest emotional victory of the year. Don’t be shocked if the Longhorns get hooked in Stillwater by the Pokes.
