Last Updated: 2018-01-30

The Super Bowl is a football bettor’s playground. When Super Bowl 52 kicks off this Sunday and the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots take to the field, the betting public will be ready. They will have notes where they have stored every bet that they have made on the big game and they will constantly monitor the results waiting to see if they have cashed in. They can bet on the side, the total and literally hundreds of proposition bets. The proposition bets or prop bets, as they are normally referred to, come in many different variations. From the national anthem, to the halftime show and everything in between, there is something for everyone. One of the more intriguing sports betting props is the cross sport prop. This is a proposition bet that involves other leagues like the PGA, NBA and NHL. These props are not only fun but they get golf, hockey and basketball bettors involved in the biggest football game of the year!

Here is a look at some of the more interesting NBA cross sport betting props for the Super Bowl.

Which will be higher NBA player’s totals vs Gronkowski?

Gronkowski (-180)

Westbrook/Anthony/George combined points vs the La Lakers (+150)

Patriot’s tight end Rob Gronkowski is injured but he has returned to practice and all reports indicate that he will play in the Super Bowl this Sunday. If and when he does you can bet that he will have more receiving yards than NBA players will have total points if you think that is what will happen. Those players in this case are all from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the form of Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. The gambler who bets on this game will take Gronk’s yards during the Super Bowl against the Big 3 against the LA Lakers on February 4th. This year Anthony is averaging 17 points per game, Westbrook is putting in 26 points per game on average and George is averaging 22 points per game. That is a total of 65 points per game and that would have to eclipse Gronk’s total yards to be a winner if you bet on the NBA trio. The value may not be with Gronk but he is the play here. Brady’s passer rating is 16.2 points higher with Gronk in the lineup and he is his main target. Gronk has the advantage against safety Malcolm Jenkins since Gronk is 6-6, 265 pounds compared to Jenkins at 6-0, 204 pounds. This may not be the best value, but the play on this prop is Gronkowski.

Which will be higher Patriots and Eagles combined score or the Houston Rockets James Harden assists/points/and rebounds combined against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Harden is one of the best players in the NBA and he always gets up for a game against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The total for the Super bowl is at 48 points and that would mean that Harden would have to eclipse 48 combined with assists, rebounds and points to beat that number. The Cavaliers play no defense and the last time Harden went against the Cavs he had 35 points and recorded a triple double with 13 boards and 11 dimes. The Cavs have not gotten any better on defense and Harden should easily top this number and is worthy of a bet at (+100). Betting on a cross sport prop always makes more than one game interesting and worth watching as you hope to claim your winning bet.
