A fun National League Central battle begins Friday night when the St. Louis Cardinals (2-4, 0-0 away) visit the Milwaukee Brewers (5-1, 3-0 home). The Cardinals have had a slow start to the season and will look to get things on track against the red-hot Brewers. Below is my MLB pick for the Cardinals vs Brewers.

St. Louis Cardinals vs Milwaukee Brewers Betting Pick

The Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -111 @ Bovada Sportsbook

This game will be played at American Family Field at 8:10 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023.

Why Bet the Milwaukee Brewers:

✅ Milwaukee has had one of the best starts in MLB and have won five straight games heading into this weekend series.

✅ At home, the Brewers have won five of their last six games at American Family Field.

✅ St. Louis has lost seven of their last nine games played and five of their last seven road games.

The St. Louis Cardinals Hope to Get Things Going

St. Louis started the season with a winning series, but they ran into the Atlanta Braves and were swept right out of their home park. The Cardinals could score just three runs in the final two games of the series and were outscored 17-7 during this three-game beatdown.

The Cardinals bats have been working early this season as they are batting .324, but they have scored just 29 runs on 69 hits. St. Louis has struggled on the mound as their pitchers have combined for a 5.33 ERA.

Jack Flaherty will take the mound for the second time this season and will look to back up his opening start that saw him pitch five scoreless, and hitless, innings.

Milwaukee Looks to Continue Rapid Start to Season

Milwaukee welcomed one of the World Series favorites, the New York Mets, and swept them right out of American Family Field midweek. This was total domination by the Brewers as they won the first two games of the series by a combined score of 19-0, before finishing off the sweep with a 7-6 win.

The Brewers bats have been clutch to start the year as they are hitting just .281, but have scored 38 runs on just 56 hits. Milwaukee’s pitching has been elite this year as they have a combined ERA of just 2.72.

Brandon Woodruff will make his second start of the season after getting a no-decision after throwing six innings of one-run ball.
