The MLB betting action goes on with a 16-game Saturday card, so we are taking a closer look at the AL West showdown from Globe Life Field in Arlington to get you the best Mariners vs. Rangers betting pick and odds.

The M’s and Rangers continue their three-game series in Texas, and the hosts are listed as slight -115 moneyline favorites on MyBookie Sportsbook. Seattle sits at -105 odds with a total of 8.5 runs.

The Mariners search for their third straight series win

The Seattle Mariners carried a disappointing 22-29 record into Friday’s opener at Globe Life Field, which has been excluded from the analysis. The M’s have won their previous two sets over the Houston Astros and Baltimore Orioles, going 4-2 in the process.

In the last couple of weeks, the Mariners have recorded a solid .265/.340/.425 slash line, slugging 25 extra-base hits and 13 home runs in 412 at-bats. Their pitching staff has posted a lackluster 4.64 ERA and .257 batting average against in that span.

Marco Gonzales will toe the rubber Saturday, carrying a 3-5 record, 3.55 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and a poor 29/17 K/BB ratio across 50.2 innings (ten starts) in 2022. The 30-year-old left-hander took a tough loss last Sunday, pitching 7.1 frames of a two-run ball in a 2-1 home defeat to the Astros.

The Rangers are unbeaten in three straight series

The 24-26 Texas Rangers split two of their previous three sets along with a 3-1 victory in a four-game series against the Oakland Athletics on the road. They’ve gone 6-3 in the last nine games overall and 11-7 in the previous 18, as the Rangers continue to chase a .500 mark.

Texas has accounted for a .264/.313/.444 slash line in the last two weeks while posting a sharp 2.80 ERA. The Rangers’ bullpen has been outstanding in that span (2.17 ERA and 2.93 FIP), allowing zero home runs across 37.1 innings of work.

Glenn Otto will get the ball Saturday and shoot for his third win in a row. He’s allowed only three runs (two earned) over his previous two showings (11 innings). The 26-year-old righty is now 3-2 with a 4.33 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in seven starts (35.1 IP) in 2022.

Trends:

Seattle:

  • 3-7 in the last ten games on the road

Texas:

  • 6-3 in the last nine games overall

Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers Pick

Marco Gonzales is 8-6 with a 3.74 ERA in 17 career starts against Texas, but he also allows a .263 batting average and a .508 slugging percentage to the current Rangers. On the other side, Glenn Otto has never met the Mariners before.

I expect to see a dramatic game and lean toward the hosts. Their bullpen will start regressing at some point, but the Mariners’ relievers have struggled mightily over the last two weeks, tallying a 5.25 ERA, 4.95 FIP, and 1.50 HR/9.

Pick: Take Texas Rangers at -115

The Total:

It’s hard to trust the starting duo in this matchup. Glenn Otto is walking 4.6 per nine innings while striking out just 7.4, while Marco Gonzales carries an awful 5.63 FIP. If both lineups continue to hit the ball well, we should see more than eight runs on the scoreboard.

The over is 9-4 in Seattle’s last 13 games overall and 9-3 in its previous 12 showings on the road. Four of the Rangers’ previous seven tilts have gone over the total, too.

Pick: Go over 8.5 runs at -120
