Game two of the Western Conference Second Round series is set for Thursday night when the Seattle Kraken visit the Dallas Stars. Seattle continued their magical playoff run with a game one win and can take control of this series with another upset Thursday night. Below is my NHL pick for the Seattle Kraken vs Dallas Stars.

Seattle Kraken vs Dallas Stars Betting Pick

The Pick: Dallas Stars -195

This game will be played at American Airlines Center at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Why Bet the Dallas Stars:

✅ Even with the game one defeat, the Stars have won 10 of their last 13 games played.

✅ At home, the Stars have won six of their last eight games at American Airlines Center.

✅ The Kraken have been good on the road in the playoffs, but Dallas is one of the better home teams and I do not see the Stars losing both games on home ice.

Seattle Kraken Have the Momentum

Seattle, coming off their first playoff series win in franchise history, carried that momentum into game one of this series. The Kraken came out on fire and were able to grab the 5-4 overtime win.

The first period of game one is one of the wilder periods you will see all playoffs. Dallas got the scoring started just 2:25 into the game and it remained 1-0 until Seattle tied it up 11:25 into the period. The scoring was far from over as the Stars retook the lead just 53 seconds later to take a 2-1 lead. Seattle was not deterred as they scored three unanswered goals, including two in 11 seconds, to take a 4-2 lead after the first period. The score remained 4-2 until the Stars scored two late third period goals to send the game to overtime. Seattle came out hot in overtime and scored the game winning goal 12:17 into the overtime period.

In the game one win, Yanni Gourde scored the game winning goal, and he was joined on the scoresheet by Jaden Schwartz, Justin Schultz, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Jordan Eberle. Seven different Kraken players recorded an assist in the game one win.

The Dallas Stars Looked Good

Dallas may have lost game one, but they got Joe Pavelski back and looked good overall. There was a lull at the end of the first period that probably cost them the game one win, but the Stars will still feel confident about winning this series.

Joe Pavelski came back from his concussion with a bang as he scored all four Dallas goals on the night. Six Stars recorded an assist in the game one defeat.
