A fun interleague series continues Wednesday night when the San Diego Padres (19-17, 9-6 away) visit the Minnesota Twins (19-17, 10-7 home). It’s early, but the Padres are third in the NL West, 2.5 games back of first, and Minnesota is first in the AL Central, two games ahead of second place. Below is my MLB pick for the San Diego Padres vs Minnesota Twins.

San Diego Padres vs Minnesota Twins Betting Pick

The Pick: Minnesota Twins -127

This game will be played at Target Field at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Why Bet the Minnesota Twins:

✅ Minnesota is good at home and have won six of their last nine games at Target Field.

✅ Against San Diego, the Twins have win six of their last eight meetings at home.

✅ San Diego has won just five of their last 18 games overall against Minnesota.

San Diego Padres in Good Form

San Diego had a slow start, but they have turned things around thanks to a favorable schedule. The Padres entered this series having lost two of their last three games, against the Dodgers, but they bounced back with a 6-1 victory in game one of this series. A good start to a tricky midweek series.

Seth Lugo is set to make his seventh start of the season and he will look to build off his strong start. The righty has pitched to a 3.21 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 33.2 innings pitched.

Xander Bogaerts is having a nice start to his San Diego career as he leads the team with a .273 batting average and six home runs. Matt Carpenter has driven in a team high 17 RBIs.

The Minnesota Twins Are Struggling

Minnesota was having a nice start to the season, but they have now lost three games in a row, including two games to the Cleveland Guardians. The Twins are playing in the worst division in baseball and they may not need 90 wins to get the division title.

Pablo Lopez is grabbing the ball for the eighth time this season and he currently has a 3.77 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 43.0 innings pitched.

Byron Buxton has been a bright spot for this Twins offense as he leads the team with a .233 batting average, eight home runs, and 19 RBIs.
