The Providence Friars travel to Rosemont, Illinois to take on the DePaul Blue Demons at the All State Arena on Tuesday night. Both teams are off to a slow start in the Big East as the Friars have recorded only 1 win out of their 4 conference games, while the Blue Demons are still winless in conference play, losing all 3 of their Big East games. The tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM ET.

The Providence Friars fall to No. 10 Creighton, look to bounce back against DePaul on Tuesday

The Providence Friars have played a very tough schedule so far in their BIG EAST conference campaign, going against ranked teams in 3 out of the 4 games played. They currently hold a 11-6 season and 1-3 conference record, with their only conference win coming against the non-ranked Georgetown Hoyas on Jan. 4th (76-70). Their most recent conference loss came at home against the No.10 Creighton Blue Jays (64-78) who led by as many as 19 points in the 2nd half, never giving a chance to the Friars to close the gap.

The Friars will have a nice chance to bounce back to the winning ways and record their 2nd BIG EAST win on Tuesday night when they visit the DePaul Blue Demons. Emmitt Holt is making a big impression for the Friars as he is averaging 13.4 points per game, along with 5.9 rebounds and teams’ high 52% shooting from the field.

Junior guard Kyron Cartwright is questionable to play on Tuesday as he banged up his knee during the game on Saturday and had to leave the floor.

The DePaul Blue Demons remain winless in the BIG EAST after losing to Seton Hall

The DePaul Blue Demons (7-9, 0-3) remain winless in the BIG EAST after dropping their third consecutive conference game to the Seton Hall Pirates with a 56-87 score on Saturday night. Counting the last two non-conference losses, the Blue Demons are now on a 5 game losing streak, as they enter the Tuesday night game against the Providence Friars.

This will be the 37th time that the Blue Demons go head-to-head with the Friars. The Friars hold a 27-9 edge in all-time meetings and 12-4 since DePaul joined the BIG EAST. The last time these two met, DePaul came up short, losing at the Dunkin Donuts Center with 66-87.

Providence Friars at DePaul Blue Demons Betting Prediction

The Friars are 7-9 ATS overall and 2-3 ATS on the road, while the Blue Demons are 5-11 ATS overall and 4-9 ATS at home.

I am taking the Friars in this one. It should be a close call, but in the end I believe that the Friars could pull an upset and take the win at the All State Arena. The Blue Demons did have some outbursts and close losses against some strong opponents, but their latest loss to Seton Hall showed all the weaknesses that this team has. I don’t expect a lot of points, so the Under could be an option to go with!!!

My Pick:  Providence Friars
