BangTheBook Sports Betting Talk Radio Podcast February 17
A great week of BangTheBook Radio is now in the books as we have set you up for a lot of weekend success. If you’ve missed anything this week, be sure to catch up because you’re only hurting yourself if you don’t take advantage of all the wisdom that was shared. On our Friday February 17 edition of BangTheBook Radio, host Adam Burke looked ahead to the weekend from an NHL perspective and Chris Stone of Fansided joined us for a preview of this weekend’s college basketball betting action.
With only one guest able to join the broadcast today, host Adam Burke was able to take us on a great journey through the NHL schedule. He talked early in the week about how this was one of the best weeks of the year for situational handicapping and now we look to reap the benefits. So many great angles are present for this weekend and Adam had some eye-popping stats, with help from @jimmydoomhands on Twitter, to share with listeners.
You’ll want to pay close attention to the NHL segment because there was a ton of stuff to digest and there are a lot of opportunities to make money this weekend. Many of you probably don’t dive too deep into the NHL, but things are set up nicely for us and hopefully they work in our favor.
Before bringing our only guest onto the air, Adam mentioned a conference that could yield a lot of good situational betting angles over the next week and a half and also talked about some underappreciated betting angles in small conferences with the conference tournaments approaching.

Chris Stone of Fansided joined us to chat about the early top 16 seeds for the Selection Committee and to look at some teams that he felt were undervalued and overvalued by that first round of projections. With a big weekend coming in college basketball, that was the primary focus of today’s show.
The North Carolina State Wolfpack have done a weird thing that could have a negative impact on Saturday’s game against Notre Dame. Kansas takes on Baylor, Virginia takes on North Carolina, and Oregon looks for revenge at home against Colorado. Along with those games, some tournament futures discussion, and more, this was a great time to chat with Chris and get a feel for college hoops.
Adam wrapped up the show with a couple of thoughts on his impending MLB season win totals series and also about what the format for the shows may look like as we get deeper into the spring.
Join us on Monday for what we hope is a full hour with Kyle Hunter of HunterSportsPicks.com for a Handicapping the Hardwood segment.
