The Week 3 of the NFL season starts on Thursday, September 22, with this exciting divisional clash, and here you can check out the best Steelers vs. Browns betting pick and odds.

Pittsburgh and Cleveland are hoping to bounce back from defeats in Week 2 when they meet at FirstEnergy Stadium in Week 3. The Browns are 5-point favorites on BetDSI Sportsbook, while the total is set at 38.5 points. These AFC North foes met twice in 2021, and the Steelers won both games.

Steelers lost narrowly to the Patriots at home

The Pittsburgh Steelers struggled offensively in a 17-14 home defeat to the New England Patriots in the game they were never up. Pittsburgh totaled only 243 yards opposite New England’s 376 and scored just one touchdown, which came in the dying moments of the tilt.

Mitch Trubisky completed 21 of 33 pass attempts for 168 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Pat Freiermuth caught that lone TD pass from Trubisky, while Pittsburgh collected only 91 rushing yards on 22 carries. On defense, Myles Jack was excellent with 13 total tackles, six more than Robert Spillane. The Steelers couldn’t resist the Pats without the best defensive player T.J. Watt, who has been placed on the injured reserve with a torn pectoral and is projected to be out for at least six weeks.

Browns dropped a 13-point lead in the loss to the Jets

The Cleveland Browns were 6-point favorites against the New York Jets at home and they were on the course of recording the second win of the season, but Joe Flacco and the visitors had other plans. Cleveland had a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, which turned out to be insufficient for the win as the Jets rallied to secure a 31-30 victory.

New York scored two touchdowns in the final 1:22 of the tilt, and even though the Browns had 29 first downs opposite the Jets’ 20, that didn’t help the hosts in the end. Jacoby Brissett completed 22 of 27 attempts for 229 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Amari Cooper was on the receiving end of that lone TD pass, while Nick Chubb was a force on the ground with 87 yards and three touchdowns on 17 rushes.

Jadeveon Clowney was forced from the last game due to an ankle injury, and he’ll be out against the Steelers on Thursday.

Trends:

Pittsburgh:

  • 3-8-1 ATS in the last 12 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game

Cleveland:

  • 8-3 ATS in the last 11 Thursday games

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Pick

The Steelers are not the same team without T.J. Watt, who has been the NFL Defensive Player of the Year last season. What’s more troubling for the Steelers, is their offense that’s pretty toothless early in the campaign as they scored 37 points in two games opposite Cleveland’s 56. The Browns have more talented players on offense and are playing at home (which didn’t help them against the Jets), and that’s why I am backing them to get a W here.

The Total

Cleveland did allow 55 points in two games this season, but considering Pittsburgh’s offensive inefficiency and lack of talent, I don’t think we will have a high-scoring affair on Thursday. Trubisky doesn’t have what it takes to outscore the Browns, while Brissett is also not known for his offensive prowess. Under is 5-2 in the last seven H2H meetings, Under is 7-2 in the previous nine H2H duels in Cleveland, Under is 4-1 in the Steelers’ last five games overall, while Under is 5-2 in the Browns’ previous seven home games.

Pick: Go Under 38.5 points (-110)
