Bowl you care?

I probably am in the minority here, but until we get to January and the major bowls, I really don't care that much about them. That is not to say I won't bet them though. The bowl season used to be exciting back when there were only a dozen or so and going to a bowl actually meant something. I don't even recognize the names of some of these bowl games anymore. I may have to follow Spooky and his threads for some help in these. I think it is a mistake betting some of these games just because it is a bowl game and on TV. Most of my money will be going on college hoops the rest of the way.

I am a football junkie so in that turns I suppose I do care and I enjoy watching the teams one last time.

But I agree with you. I think there are way too many for it to have the special meaning the games used to have years ago. Kinda sad in a way.

If there's a line on the game, you best be sure I care. While for the larger schools they may not have much heart playing in these mid-major bowls however it does provide revenue for the university towards next season's recruitment class as well as other benefits. The number of bowls hasn't really increased that much over the last few years and while you would only need 6 or 7 division one wins to qualify, it at least gives the schools something to play for what they accomplished after the regular season.

I will make believe I never read this thread. lol
An insignificant bowl game is entirely more entertaining and enjoyable than a top 5 matchup in college basketball and any NBA game for that matter.

Traditionally I don't do as good during the bowl season as I do during the regular. I really should just pack itin after the regular 12 games. But, I don't................. for it's what we do, who we are, I guess, right??

Never, ever criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes........for at that point they will be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes !
