Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Adrian Beltre and Craig Gentry each hit a two-run homer, and Texas beat Seattle, 5-3, on a night the Rangers clinched the American League West title. The victory, coupled with the Angels' 3-1 home loss to the Oakland Athletics Friday, secured the Rangers back-to-back division crowns for the first time since 1998-99. Matt Harrison (14-9) won his fourth straight start after scattering three hits over six solid innings. The left-hander gave up all three runs in his final frame of work. Neftali Feliz pitched around a two-out walk in the ninth to earn his 30th save of the season.

Boston at New York, Postponed

Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - The Red Sox had their game against the AL East- champion New York Yankees postponed due to rain Friday night, but Boston was able to inch closer to a playoff spot. Losers in seven of their last nine games, the Red Sox caught a break when the Rays were beaten, 5-1, at home by Toronto. The result increased Boston's lead to 2 1/2 games ahead of Tampa Bay for the wild card spot with just six contests left for the Red Sox. The Red Sox and Yankees will make up Friday's washout as part of a doubleheader on Sunday with game times of 1:05 p.m. (et) and 6:30 p.m. (et).

St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - Brandon Morrow hurled seven scoreless innings, and the Toronto Blue Jays dealt Tampa Bay's flagging playoff hopes a damaging blow with a 5-1 win in the opener of a three-game series at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay trails Boston by 2 1/2 games in the race for the AL wild card with only five games remaining. The Red Sox were slated to begin a three-game set in the Bronx, but inclement weather postponed Friday's contest against the Yankees. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday. Morrow (11-11) allowed two hits, walked four and struck out nine. Kelly Johnson clubbed a solo home run and added an RBI single for Toronto, which has won six of its last nine games. David Price (12-13) gave up five runs -- two earned -- on five hits and two walks in six full frames to absorb the loss for the Rays, who have dropped four of five.

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Jemile Weeks and David DeJesus both homered off Los Angeles ace Jered Weaver, and the Oakland Athletics spoiled the Angels' faint hopes for a division title with a 3-1 win. The loss by the Angels, who failed to score after loading the bases in the eighth, secured Texas' second straight AL West crown. They also fell 3 1/2 games behind the wild card- leading Boston Red Sox with five games to play.

Final Score: Detroit 4, Baltimore 3 (11 innings)

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Victor Martinez plated Danny Worth with the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning, giving Detroit a 4-3 win over Baltimore in the second edition a four-game series at Comerica Park. Miguel Cabrera posted three hits including a two-run homer for the AL Central champions, who dropped the opener of the set on Thursday but rebounded to win for the fourth time in seven games. Ryan Perry (1-0) turned in a scoreless top of the 11th for the win. Vladimir Guerrero collected two hits and drove in a run for the Orioles, who had won three in a row and eight of 10. J.J. Hardy added three hits and scored twice in the setback. Willie Eyre (2-2) was charged with the deciding run.

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Carlos Santana's pinch-hit home run leading off the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Indians a 6-5 victory over the Twins in the opener of a four-game series. Chris Perez (4-7) pitched a perfect top of the ninth inning for the win. Matt Capps (4-7) gave up Santana's home run on the first pitch he threw in the bottom of the ninth. Jim Thome, who was honored before the game in recognition of his 600th career home run and was informed a statue of him will be placed at Progressive Field, went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Chris Parmelee homered and drove in three runs for Minnesota, which lost for the 12th time in 13 games. Carl Pavano allowed five runs on 10 hits and a walk through a 6 1/3-inning start for the Twins. Justin Masterson started the game for the Indians, allowing four runs -- three earned -- on five hits and six walks through 4 2/3 innings.

Final Score: Kansas City 11, Chicago 1

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Eric Hosmer, Salvador Perez, Alcides Escobar and Jeff Francoeur each homered as the Royals hammered the White Sox, 11-1, to open a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field. Bruce Chen (12-8) allowed one run on two hits and a walk through eight innings in the Royals' ninth win in 11 games. Paul Konerko homered and Dayan Viciedo singled to record the White Sox's only hits. Zach Stewart (2-6) allowed nine runs on 12 hits in four-plus innings as Chicago lost for the 10th time in 13 games.
